41  Scrap Yarn Cat Toy in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: February 20, 2005 11:10:07 AM
I had just a little bit of fun fur left from my crocheted cat bed project and I decided to knit it up into a cat toy. I just knit a little square and then stuffed it with a bit of scrap foam and handsewed it closed. I had some scrap ribbon that I gathered up to braid into a tail and sewed it to the body. My kitty likes the toy and it's 100% recycled!

42  Simple Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: February 20, 2005 11:06:32 AM
I had a skein of fun fur sitting around and finally made a fuzzy scarf. This was a relaxing easy project. I used size 11 needles, cast on 12 stitches and did stockingnette until I ran out of yarn. I'm really happy with how fuzzy it is!

43  Cat Bed in Crochet: Completed Projects by twilight on: February 20, 2005 10:58:25 AM
I tried making the knit cat bed from the SnB book but for some reason it just wasn't working out. So I made a crocheted version. Basically I crocheted a large circle. Then I stopped increasing for the rim. I added some fun fur at the end for decoration. I folded over the rim and added foam to give it form. My kitty really likes it I just don't have a good picture of him in it.   Roll Eyes

45  Re: Record bowls, easiest gift ever! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by twilight on: June 16, 2004 11:49:24 PM
I did a trade over on getcrafty.com and got two beautiful red records. One even says "Twilight on the trail" which is so cool because I love to hike! The normal one is the Sound of Music soundtrack for a friend.

Warning on colored records-they were taking a long time to melt so I cranked the oven up to 235 degrees and left one in for longer than normal. I go to take it out and the ends are MELTED to the cookie sheet. What a mess. I pried it up and managed to give it a good shape. But it took me a good half hour with a lighter "spot melting" the charred parts on the edge. I'm sticking to that 225 temp from now on.

46  Re: DeCoUpAgE dECoR in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by twilight on: June 16, 2004 11:28:56 PM
I had a small trashcan that looked so plain and spruced it up with a map from an old National Geographic.

47  Vogue tank top in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: June 11, 2004 08:34:43 PM
I just finished the tank top, #28, from Vogue International Knitting. The pattern itself was ok except I didn't use the right type of yarn. My guage seemed right but my yarn was a chunky mix of several colors. When I was done the top was way too large. I made the medium size.

I was too frustrated to take it out and try again so I cut the ends and hand sewed it, making sure to go over the ends A LOT so it wouldn't fray. That worked except I think the top looks a little funky on the sides. I like it though because I've never knitted a tank before. Oh, I didn't like the way the I-cord raised up so I did flat straps instead.

48  New curtains in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by twilight on: June 11, 2004 08:21:47 PM
I made some curtains recently. I didn't take seam allowances into account on the first pair and they ended up being too narrow. So I just added another panel. I like how it looks funky and intentional.  Wink

I made another pair afterwards, remembering seam allowance.  Roll Eyes

49  Spun yarn in Spinning: Completed Projects by twilight on: May 15, 2004 05:10:49 PM
I'm teaching myself to spin and just finished two balls of yarn I'm really happy with. I bought the dyed wool roving off ebay.

50  Granny Square Afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by twilight on: May 15, 2004 05:05:57 PM
I just completed my first granny square afghan! I started making the squares to use up extra yarn, then bought more once the color scheme started taking shape. It's hard to say how long it took me because I've been working on it between other projects for about a year. (I knitted a sweater in the midst of this project  ;) It reaches from my elbows to my ankles.
