11  Needle case (now with Link to Tutorial) in Completed Projects by twilight on: March 10, 2007 04:27:07 PM
I finished my needle case and am really happy with the way it turned out. This project was done based on my childhood memory which admittedly wasn’t the best way to do it. But it turned out just like I remember my mom’s needle case. I also got new needles because I’ve had my old ones for years.

I plan on writing up a tutorial for this as well. Hope you like it!

ETA:
I posted a tute on my blog. Enjoy. Smiley

12  A new purse in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: February 21, 2007 11:43:31 PM
I recently finished a new purse for myself. The yarn is handpainted and handspun. It was a present from my hubby several years ago. I made up the pattern as I went along.

Details on my blog.

13  A Successful Pair of Socks (updated pics) in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: February 01, 2007 11:28:07 AM
I still have to make the other sock but this one came out so good I had to post. I used the technique from Simple Socks, Plain and Fancy.

Woot! I finished my socks and they fit. They feel so good. Yay!

Prana inspected them and approves.

14  Re: Projects from Weekend Knitting by Melanie Falick in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: January 13, 2007 07:26:35 PM
My hubby got me this book for a present two Solstices ago. This is my first pair of socks and I love them.

I think the stitches seem a little large which makes me suspect this yarn wasn't quite right. It's not sock yarn and that could be why. The yarn is a wool/silk blend so the socks are super soft.

15  Rubber Chicken Needs A Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: December 24, 2006 12:35:03 AM
It’s a cold, snowy winter this season so I decided our rubber chicken needed a scarf of his own.

A close up of the scarf, knit from my stash:

Now the chicken can be warm when he goes out to play in the snow.

Look he’s making a snow chicken!

16  Simple Gray Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: December 19, 2006 12:27:55 AM
I'm working on a very hard lace sweater. To ease my stress when I felt like crying I started a simple gray scarf. The yarn is recycled from a free sweater I frogged. Easy ribbing of k2, p2 across. When I started I didn't know who to give it to. A friend's roommate doesn't have a handmade scarf so to him it goes.

My cat Prana modeling it for me:

A close up to show off the colors.

17  Re: Let's make pincushions! in Craftalongs by twilight on: November 28, 2006 11:25:48 PM
These pincushions were fun to make! I'm going to keep one and give the other to a friend.

I only put a button on one side because I figured I'd only use one side. Do others use both sides?

Our back door had a draft coming through so I decided to make a draft blocker. It turned out really cute I think.  Grin

Thanks for the tute. I knit a pincushion up really quick! What a great project. I plan to make some of these for Solstice presents.

20  Homemade Patches in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by twilight on: November 18, 2006 12:41:36 AM
I still wear my first pair of homemade bell bottoms. The wear is showing though because they had devoloped some holes in the butt. In the past I've just bought patches but this time I decided to make some:

Two handmade flowers. Store bought patch in the middle.

I made the ice cream. An ice cream cone on my booty. hehe

I made a little tutorial on my blog.
