1  Tattered skirt into shaggy scarf in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by twilight on: June 05, 2014 02:03:26 PM
A friend asked if I could repair her tattered skirt. Just picking it up created new holes so we decided it couldn't be fixed.

I decided to cut it into strips and then sew them back together longwise. I took a cat brush to the ends to enhance the fraying.

I'm so happy with how it came out!

3  Beyond The Fringe in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by twilight on: March 06, 2009 12:18:37 PM
I'm making two pieces of artwork for a fiber arts show that's happening in Taos, NM called Beyond The Fringe. Here's a snip of our art postcard:

My pieces are still in progress. This is the centerpiece for my piece call An Arrangement Of Elements:

This piece is called Lunar Life:

4  Charmed Knits Owl in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: November 29, 2007 12:51:08 PM

I finished my owl for the baby gift. The pattern is from Charmed Knits. All the yarn is stash yarn. I made a few modifications. The base piece was too big so I just took a piece of yarn and threaded it through the bottom hole and sewed it closed. The pattern called for button eyes but since it’s for a newborn I sewed eyes on instead. My favorite mod was the hair. The owl just needed some hair:

5  Ravenclaw Umbilical Cord Hat in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by twilight on: November 27, 2007 09:26:25 PM

I made the Umbilical Cord Hat in Ravenclaw colors for a friend who's pregnant. That's her favorite house from Harry Potter. The yarn is Mission Falls 1824 superwash wool.

7  My Ogee is done! in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: August 30, 2007 08:17:50 PM
I'm finally done with Ogee. It started out being really hard lace work but by the end I was able to master the lace. I can really see myself wearing this over skirts and pants a lot.

I frogged a thrift sweater and knit up Ogee with the yarn. I'm amazed how much the pattern opened up after blocking. Surprisingly even though I used different yarn, smaller needles and altered the pattern somewhat the dimensions turned out to match the ones in the pattern.

More details on my blog, in the sig.

9  Arwen Sweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by twilight on: June 29, 2007 01:06:27 PM
A friend and I decided to do the Arwen Sweater from Interweave as a KAL. It was really fun to work on a project with somone and when I got confused on the short row sleeve shaping she helped me out. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

I made mine in Lettuce Green from Knit Picks. The yarn was a dream to work with. And I have two and a half balls left over. Woot!

10  Crafster Swap Bag Reconned in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by twilight on: April 06, 2007 01:24:25 AM

I originally got this bag through a Craftster swap. It started off plain white. I sewed on an outside pocket to cover up some advertising. Some friends dyed it for me. Recently I added lining and pockets to hold my knitting supplies. The lining came from a thrift jacket. More pics at my blog.
