1  technology sucks. japanese candy does not. :) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by steampunkwillie on: June 14, 2007 05:52:00 PM
So.

About an hour ago now, I was struck with the sudden urge to make some earrings out of some konnyaku (weird Japanese gummy candy which is actually really good) packets that were just sitting on my desk.

And so I did.

...Unfortunately, there WAS only one working camera in the house. (Honestly, who buys a BROKEN camera from eBay with the expectation of using it seriously? >_<) I got it to work long enough to take ONE picture of them.

...Argh.

(Picture imageshacked because it's OMGXBOXHUEG and I'm weird about stretching pages.)

They're orange flavored, by the way. You all would have seen that if the camera didn't suck and die.

Enjoy. Smiley

2  a hairclip and a question in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by steampunkwillie on: June 15, 2006 08:47:04 AM
So I was on Craftster until about two in the morning last night (er, this morning), and I wanted to make something, so I made a quick hairclip out of a Build-A-Bear heart.
(Funny story about that heart...I was at the mall, wandering about, and I found it in front of the arcade. I picked it up, turned to my boyfriend, handed it to him, and said, "Now you have my heart!" Then he gave it back and said, "Nuh-uh, you have mine!" Now everyone go AWWWW~ Smiley)

Anywho, insert really bad picture of hairclip here~>

(Sorry if the camera's in the way...)

Now, I have a bunch more blank hairclips that I want to spruce up some. What would you more experienced Craftsters suggest?

3  Everyone loves swishy pants! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by steampunkwillie on: June 15, 2006 08:33:25 AM
This was partially inspired by violentjayne's patchy pants (I can't seem to find the link at the moment, but I encourage everyone to find it if you haven't seen them already Smiley). I had this pair of jeans that I got about a year ago in Florida, and they were SO comfortable, but they were gradually getting smaller and smaller. So I added some random panels and a zipper (which serves NO purpose except for something else my boyfriend's probably going to play with once he finds it), and now they're swishy at the bottom. I'm torn betreen looking forward to and dreading the next time I play DDR in these... Undecided

Meh, I need a better camera. There's one of the random panels, which I decorated with Sharpies. I wrote a couple of my screennames (y u z o~! and steampunk willie...wouldn't it be wild if someone saw my pants and recognized me from the internet?) and drew a bunch of stars there. Nothing special.

...And the other leg. I drew a Heartless symbol and wrote something about Axel. Yes, folks, I'm STILL obsessed. Embarrassed

So, there you go. Pants. Enjoy. Smiley

(I just noticed how odd I look standing on my toilet...send all props to my mom if you like my bathroom~! Cheesy)

4  Sephiroth+bondage strap bows+an overexcited fangirl=sexy halter~ in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by steampunkwillie on: May 08, 2006 03:46:36 PM
After weeks of lurking and going "I COULD DO THAT!", I finally joined. Hooray for me.

So anyways, I'm completely obsessed with all things Final Fantasy, and, like every other fanboy/girl in the world, I practically had a visual orgasm the first time I saw FF7: Advent Children. To celebrate the North American release of it, I found this huge FF7 shirt (which I didn't take before pics of Sad), and turned it into a nifty little halter top. It's my first recon, but I think I did pretty nicely for a first time (I got tons of compliments on it, surprisingly).

My hand sewing skills need a little work, and I don't have easy access to a sewing machine, unfortunately. When I tried to attach the straps to the top, I ended up with these unsightly holes that let everything hang out, so I made some bows out of the ends of an old bondage strap and some extra fabric. And the logo's crooked. Ick. Sad

...And there's the back, featuring Sephiroth in all his nifty, badass (slightly squished) glory. The picture pretty much explains itself.

Like I said, this was my first time, so any advise on things I could do better would be much appreciated. Smiley

PS: Sorry about the horrible image quality. I shouldn't expect so much from a cheap camera this big.

PPS: The sleeves of the shirt had some cute little chocobos on them. ^_^ I've decided to sew one of them on my favorite jacket, but does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do with the other?
