1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / What makes a yarn good for crochet? on: July 30, 2007 09:58:28 AM
What kinds of qualities do you look for in yarns that you are going to be crocheting with?

Do you prefer thick/thin yarns?
Any particular fiber you enjoy/avoid?
How do you feel toward stretchy, elastic-like yarns?

Thanks for any help you can give!

3  UNITED STATES / Hawaii / Any knitters in Hawaii? on: July 29, 2006 08:02:21 PM
I've been sorta tossing around the idea of moving to Hawaii. I'm not very fimiliar with what goes on down there, as I've never been. But the idea of just selling all my stuff and moving sounds so exilerating. I'm curious what the knitting "scene" is like there. Are there yarn stores? Is it really too warm to desire knitting? What kinds of things do you (if you live there) enjoy making?

And off the topic of knitting... what's it like?

I hope there's someone here who can feed my curiousity.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knit Skirt Question on: May 19, 2006 09:15:02 AM
I've been itchin' to design a knit skirt, but I keep hearing horror stories about how the wrong fiber was used and the skirt wrinkles when you sit. I'm wondering what the best skirt fiber would be? I don't think cotton would be good, because it likes to wrinkle. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
~Kristen~
