1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mexican Thumb Wrestling Kit on: August 25, 2013 07:57:39 AM
I made a thumb wrestling kit for a friend. The 'wrestlers' were knitted from a pattern in a magazine, and the idea to include a board came from this tutorial

Although mine is made from card painted with acrylics, not wood. I also think my thumb holes are a little too far apart, but I hope they will like it! Once the board has dried I'l put everything into the plastic envelope.

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Hat/Wig Stands on: August 21, 2013 07:05:54 AM
I recently obtained a copy of 'The Big-Ass Book of Crafts' and made the papier mache hat/wig stands for myself and a friend. I was happy with how they turned out, so I thought I'd post a pic here:
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 87 ENTRIES / Brickstitch my heart on: June 09, 2013 11:31:54 AM
Hello everyone! This is the first time I have entered a challenge after looking at various challenges in the past I finally thought I could do something with the shape challenge!

A while back I bought a white plastic heart-shaped box from a secondhand shop (it looks like it was part of a child's toy), I wanted to make it into a keepsake box, so I decided to craft a lid using plastic canvas and cover the rest of the box with felt.

First I traced the box onto plastic canvas, traced a smaller heart into the middle of the canvas and using various yarns filled in the hearts on the lid using brick stitch. I then cut pieces of felt for the sides and base of the heart-shaped box and sewed them together using blanket stitch, covered the box and used some pink foam for the inside base of the box. I sewed lace around the edge of the lid to hide the rough edges of the plastic canvas and glued felt onto the back of the lid to hide the underside of the stitching, then used ribbon and buttons to create the hinge and closures of the box.
The photo below shows some of the process and various views of the box.

4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / A Burger-shaped computer mouse? on: October 08, 2011 07:39:24 AM
I have an old computer mouse shaped like a burger I bought many, many years ago and no longer worrks with my PC, I don't want to throw it away and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of something to do with it? The only reuse of computer mice I've seen so far is belt buckles, which doesn't really appeal to me! I did think of a pin cushion....
A good photo of my item can be found here: http://www.flixya.com/photo/1974614/burger-mouse
5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Rejection Letters!!!! on: February 05, 2004 10:45:10 AM
Right now I am looking for a job and am receiving lots of "thanks, but no thanks" letters from potential employers!!! I was thinking it would be cool to recycle these into something useful! So, any ideas? The letters are mainly on white paper, and A4 (full size?)!!
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Flip Flops!! on: January 20, 2004 09:47:27 AM
I have 2 pairs of flip flops that no longer fit me - does anyone have any ideas for crafty projects I could do to recycle them? They have soft, rubbery soles and one pair has a plastic thong that goes between your toes whilst the other has a fabric strap instead... (hope this makes sense!) I will try to post a picture of them soon!
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Old Calendars & Used Tea Lights on: January 03, 2004 12:53:27 PM
If anyone has any ideas concerning what I could make out of the following things I have lying around right now, I would be pleased to hear them!:

1. Old Calendars....
2. Those small round metal cases tealight candles come in
