3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mexican Thumb Wrestling Kit on: August 25, 2013 07:57:39 AM
I made a thumb wrestling kit for a friend. The 'wrestlers' were knitted from a pattern in a magazine, and the idea to include a board came from this tutorial

Although mine is made from card painted with acrylics, not wood. I also think my thumb holes are a little too far apart, but I hope they will like it! Once the board has dried I'l put everything into the plastic envelope.

Thank you Smiley
My friend is using hers as an ornament rather than putting hats/wigs on hers. I think mine will be a handy prop for Ravelry photos!

I recently obtained a copy of 'The Big-Ass Book of Crafts' and made the papier mache hat/wig stands for myself and a friend. I was happy with how they turned out, so I thought I'd post a pic here:

You could use the pages in a decoupage project?

The book Meet Me At Mike's had a couple of projects using phone book pages, such as making paper flowers, this sort of thing: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ynttO8jsZyE/TV5X3QbYq4I/AAAAAAAAANE/aTJ_WgFp8Os/s1600/paper+flowers.JPG or using pieces as part of a hanging mobile.

Great ideas thank you. I'd forgotten I'd written this post and just jogged my memory today when I saw the mouse in the cupboard - I must recycle it soon!  Cheesy

Perhaps you could use the lengths of beads with charms on the end as fringing for a scarf or purse/bag?

Great work, looks lovely! This is a brilliant and unique way of recycling a vinyl record I hadn't seen before.
