1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: What's your favorite salad? Please share the recipe here! on: April 10, 2008 03:58:59 PM
My favorite (that I actually just finished eating 2 minutes ago). Not very precise though.

Equal amounts of fresh mozzarella, and chopped up cherry tomatoes. A slosh of olive oil, some chopped up garlic, and basil and salt to taste.

Delicious!

I'm kind of excited. I've lived near chicago since I was 7, so it really is my hometown city, but I'll be going to Wash U next year, and get to explore a new city, and you guys are all making it sound awesome.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cable Hats, Desert Sunrise and Ponytail on: February 23, 2008 08:26:37 AM
Yours turned out great. I'm actually working the same pattern right now, and I have a question. I've just gotten to the part where I have to start shaping, and I'm confused.

This is what it says- Row 1: K2 sts together, K9. Repeat across entire row. Well this would get a stockinette style top. However, In your pictures, it would seem as though you have the cables going all the say to the top, with the  ribs of purls continuing up too. I'm confused, and I hope you, or some other considerate person, could help me out of my confusion in this, my first hat.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Jeans and bright shirt *first post* on: March 26, 2007 02:31:26 PM
Woah. You make your own jeans? And they look so professional!

I'm 6'3" so I know the problem with buying pants, though I have resigned myself to having to spend mucho money to buy long pants (yay 37" inseams!)
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Hibiscus Lims Swim Suit on: February 15, 2007 03:18:34 PM
That is really cute. Ill have to think of making something like that myself.

Yeay for Hot Florida, that inspires me to sew only summer stuff in the middle of the winter...i wish I could see some snow this year...

Heh. I'd gladly trade our negative temperatures and foot and a half of snow...
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: A Harry Potter Themed Quilted Gryffindor Messenger Bag on: February 10, 2007 05:27:02 AM
Sorry to bring up such an old topic. This is a nice bag, and it really deserved to win.

So as per your suggestion, I strolled over to look at your other bags, and I saw your yellow submarine bag. Oh, my god...I actually sat there with my mouth open for at least 30 seconds. Its so cute and so amazing.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Recon pink floyd t-shirt on: February 07, 2007 08:02:47 AM

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Husband's Alkaline Trio shirt into new dress for me (now with tutorial) on: February 07, 2007 07:58:42 AM
Thats a really cute dress. Oh how I want one.

I love Alkaline Trio also. I've been to a few concerts, and its always fun and completely nuts with the hometown crowd.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Fingerless Gloves for Typing on: February 07, 2007 05:22:42 AM
Ooh. I have some fleece scraps lying around from a pillow that I made. I think I'll make these for my perpetually cold hands (today...maybe)
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Superbowl Sunday relevant - Bears baby hat! on: February 06, 2007 02:32:31 PM
Really cute and a shame it came out small.

Im not really a football fan, but I do follow the bears a bit. Heck, I live in the area and its impossible to walk around on a monday and not hear the score of the game the weekend before. Shame they lost. My friends and I decided that the game should be only 20 seconds , more exciting. And we would have won
