Thanks. Smiley  This is actually my first time straying from a pattern, and it worked out much better than I thought it would.

Okay, I modified my Accidentally On Purpose.  It's still not perfect, but it's good enough, now.  Here're the results:

Original shirt, modified shirt:

Original neckline, modified neckline:

I shortened the shirt quite a bit (it was even longer in the back, originally).  I also changed the neckline, because with the bind-offs instead of decreases, it looked too choppy.  So I did slanting decreases on both sides of the neckline instead, and made the shoulder pieces a little wider so they'd be a little sturdier.  The large size fits my bust, but not my shoulders, which resulted in the first shoulders being waaaay too wide.  They're still too wide now, but a did a few decreases on the outside, too.  Not perfect, but it looks like it fits a little bit better than my first go around.

Oo, yeah, that sleeve looks awesome.  I love the dual pinks.

I recently completed mine, but unfortunately, it only fits in my bust.  The shoulders are too wide, it's several inches too long, and much too bulky around my stomach (even when I'm wearing a shirt under it).  I tried to shrink it in the washer and dryer, but it didn't work.  I'm thinking about frogging the whole thing and starting over on the next smallest size.  Ugh.  I spent 3 months on the first one.  Angry

18  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Star Wars wristband on: May 11, 2006 05:06:16 PM
Okay, it took me a couple days to decide how to do this (and then actually do it), since I didn't want to just take a webcam picture of my hand-drawn chart.  So, it's a little crudely done, but here's the chart I used for the wristband:

There are a couple extra rows because I don't know how to use Illustrator, but you can leave any of the blank ones out.  I only had one line separating the top and the bottom of the logo on mine.

Enjoy!  If you make one, I'd like to see pictures.  This is the first thing I've made that has actually inspired other people.  Yay! Smiley

My first official thread here, so it better be good, right?  Well, for all the geeks and nerdy girls out there, I bring you the wristband from a galaxy far, far away... well, from SNB.  But that's close enough.

I basically just took the Star Wars logo and made a little chart for it that fit the size of the band from SNB.  My boyfriend is now the proud owner of this one, but I also made another one for another friend.  It's a fun, short project, and I'd like to start making more wristbands with more "original" designs.  If anyone wants, I can also post the chart.  The last S on this is a little wonky but it was my first ever intarsia, so I don't beat myself up over it.

Thanks for looking!  ~Lotus

This mod is simply adorable - I think I'll have to tack it onto my endless list of projects to make for a friend.
Thanks for sharing, guys!
