The only one I have is the Embellishments one and I love it.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ball Winders? on: October 12, 2006 09:00:59 AM
I really want to get a ball winder, but the 2 listed at Joann.com seem to have problems with quality - based on reviews.  I've looked everywhere locally.  For those of you that use them, which ones are the best?  Thanks!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Best place online to buy Trekking yarn? on: October 04, 2006 11:29:11 AM
I've found it several places.  Looking for places that offer discount codes or free shipping or something.  =)  I've bought it from littleknits before but the shipping is pretty high - $10 - $12.50
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help finding a child's sweater pattern on: September 28, 2006 07:47:18 AM
Looking for something worked in the round - preferably a free pattern.  In a size 4/4T.  Unisex or Boy.  I've looked at all my usual haunts and haven't seen anything.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I need to crank out a sweater in the next 10 days or so.  =)  Thanks!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What to make for someone you don't like very well? on: September 20, 2006 08:09:16 AM
I appreciate all the input and did not take any of it as preachiness.  =)  It has been a long hard road with her and we are just now at a point where we are friendly with each other - and it's not been a one sided bitchiness.  It's a long story that I won't go into here.  But, anyway, I did want to make a nice gesture.  Maybe I'll go with an afghan or something similar that I can give to both of them because my dad appreciates my knitting like no one else for some reason.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What to make for someone you don't like very well? on: September 20, 2006 07:03:24 AM
I know it's an odd question, but this year I'm making everyone's (except my children's) christmas presents.  This includes my dad's wife - my stepmummy - of a few years.  She's alright and I don't hate her but I don't particularly like or have anything in common with her.

So, what would you make for someone like that?  I don't want to make something too labor intensive but I do want to make something that looks like a little thought and time went into it.  She's kinda "rough" if that makes any sense at all.  I wouldn't go so far as to say she's trashy, but she's walking the edge.   Wink
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / A butt-load of yarn and never anything to start a project? on: September 19, 2006 02:30:29 PM
I have a scary stash.  And I don't normally by onesies twosies either.  I have enough of quite a few things to make sweaters.  Problem is, I can never find anything to make.  Is there anyplace online where you can search for patterns by yarn weight or gauge or anything?

For example - I bought some Plymouth Fantasy Naturale with the sole purpose of making a toddler sweater.  Now, I can't find a pattern.  I've looked through tons of my books.  Skimmed dozens of websites....  Any suggestions?

PS - Fantasy Naturale is:
18 sts / 4 inches
Size 8 needles
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Felted Kureyon Handbag - First FO Xmas Gift! on: September 19, 2006 02:15:45 PM
I adore that bag! It's very pretty Smiley
As a beginner knitter, I'm glad to say that I haven't gotten bit by the Noro bug yet! Smiley  One day my friend, one day.
LOL, I actually have not been knitting that long.  This was my first time working with Noro and I had gotten 3 lonely sks on sale at my LYS for $6 each so I just had to get them.  I have to say in all honesty that the only thing I enjoyed about working with this yarn was the color.  I cannot imagine wearing it against my skin - it is really rough.  I had to spit-felt it a few times as it just pulled apart while I was working with it.  And, it had on average 2 knots per skein.  So, eh, it's really overrated in my opinion.  But, the colors are to die for.

I'm kinda on a SWTC Karaoke kick and like working with that much better.  It's much softer.

oh very nice bag and very nice colorway.. did you use any pattern?
Thank you!  It's the Viva Las Felted Bag found here:  http://craftykt.blogspot.com/2005/11/viva-las-felted-bag-pattern.html

I gave it a mag snap closure instead of a button and like a said knit garter instead of stockinette by accident.
