1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Hey, my tins are leaky! (candlemaking) on: November 11, 2004 12:14:39 PM
Hi Everyone!
I've recently acquired a dozen metal tea tins that I'd love to pour candles into....the problem: They leak a bit!
My idea is to fold parchment paper to line the bottom and halfway up the sides to kind of contain the melted wax while it hardens. Do you think it would work? Will it eventually be a fire hazard? I was also thinking wax paper might work instead. Thanks ahead of time for all your responses! I heart Craftster!

p.s. In case you're interested:
I plan to make tea scented candles with real tea leaves in the wax and decoupage the outside with this great paper my girlfriend brought me from Italy!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Help....Tips for painting on fabric??? on: October 06, 2004 04:38:03 PM
Hey Everyone....
I was wondering if oil paints are okay to paint onto demin fabric. I also have acrylic paints if you think that would work better. I just really really don't want to have to buy fabric paint. Its for a bag that won't need to be washed (hopefully). Any thoughts? Thanks!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hey, check out my rhino bag! on: September 28, 2004 01:23:40 AM
Hopefully my images will work out....if not, then I'll try again.

I embroidered this rhino ages ago and took my sweet time putting together the actually bag. Inside there's a pocket that's big enough for my cd player. It's a pretty simple design. I'll include a tutorial next time. Oh yeah, and the other side is a stencil of a giraffe saying, "Well, I'm gonna go mingle." I'm not sure how clear the pic is. Anyways, enjoy. -natalie m.
p.s....I heart craftster.
