1  UNITED STATES / Missouri / St. Louis Pagan Picnic on: January 19, 2009 07:05:08 PM
Hello my fellow st. louis chickies..... I just wanted to pop in and tell of a wonderful event where some may possibly be able to show off and sell their homemade wares.... hehe (look at me trying to sound all spiffy and professional... is it working? No? Grrrr). I've been attending the St. Louis Pagan Picnic for a few years now (as security staff with my amazing fiance' and last year with our son). So many people come and set up tables and tents with their homemade stuff to sell and just to all around have fun. I wanted to post the link for it in case anyone was interested and wanted to reserve a vendor site (of just go to have fun and see all the amazing stuff that is there) I'll be there again this year with my fiance' and our son June 13th and 14th in Tower Grove Park off of Grand Blvd. not far from I-44. Hope to see ya there!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Black/Red/Silver Irish themed HELP!!!! on: October 27, 2008 08:25:22 PM
In a year or so, My fiancee' Sean and I are getting married. We havn't set a date yet, but he told me that I can plan anytime I want (he's fully aware that I'm going to be crafting a lot of the stuff for that day). I've always wanted to have an Irish themed wedding, and lucky me, I landed myself a Scotch Irish guy  Grin. Now, he some how managed to talk me into a black and red theme, and I agreed as long as we could have silver in it too. He also want to go with the tradition of the guys wearing kilts (this will more than likely change, lol). Now. I have no clue how to incorprate these three colors into an Irish themed wedding. I need idea's and google and google image search aren't helping me much. Does anyone have any idea's on stuff I can make, or websites reading suggestions etc? I would appreciate it so incredibly much!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knifty Knitter hat of "love" lol on: February 13, 2008 10:50:46 PM
So I got bored of packing today and decided that I wanted to bust out the knifty knitter. I haven't used it in quite a while. I used this soft red yarn that I've had forever and a day that I've tried making scarves with, but it just didn't work out right. I can't even begin to tell you what the name of the yarn is. The origonal tag that came with it is in my yarn box in my mom and dad's storage unit. i'll be able to tell what it is as of Monday I think. Anyway... enough of my senseless rambling and onto the softy hat goodness!

It looks like a red spider web of looooovvvveee, lol

Pardon my dorkdum, I also needed a New MySpace pic, lol

I made it on the green loom. I started it off like a normal hat. I knitted about 6 rows before I made the tiny brim. After that i only wrapped every other peg, hense the open spaces. I'm going to work on a brown hat next, just a little differently... but I'll work on it tomarrow, it's almost 1 am. I have to get up at 6 with the baby. Hope you enjoyed the hat!
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / stencily onesie, hand bag and book cover goodness (Image Heavy) on: January 27, 2008 10:53:37 PM
Finally... I stopped putting off doing my crafting, sat down and got some progress done. About 5 months into my pregnancy, my ex fiance'/ best friend's sister gave me a rather large tub full of boys baby clothes for my son. She just had twins this past may, and had a lot (and by a lot, I mean a ton) of clothes that she received from friends and family and knew that her two boys wouldn't end up getting to wear before they got too big so she passed them onto me. Within the massive tub of clothes were quite a few blank onesies. I had planned on dishing out a few stenciled ones before my son was born.... procrastinator!!! I didn't even start working on them (with the exception of one) until a week and a half ago, my son is now almost 3 months old, heh. I managed to get 9 onesies stenciled, I was able to stencil one... count em' one, BEFORE he was born Roll Eyes

Take a look:

This is the one I did before he was born.

I saw a onesie like this before on this board I believe so I had to try it out, used masking tape to section off the stripes and then used a stencil from stencil punks (I think that's where I got it)

This is my nickname for him, because he's a booger butt, lol

I only stenciled the star on this one, the rest I did free hand.

You'd have to know who Corey "Mr. Safety" Williams is from YouTube (he does the Mean Kitty song), he does a song called Make Poop, it's actually rather funny. Oh and please ignore the stain that's on it, my nephew (boyfriends actually), took it upon himself to put this onesie on Little Man before I got a chance to take pics and pre-wash when I told him not too. Needless to say, Little Man had a VERY, and VERY leaky wet diaper.

This one is my favorite

This is my dad's nickname for him, lol

Well those are the onesies, there was one more but somehow the picture got deleted off of my computer. But was I stopping with just those? Oh no, not a chance. I came across this black hand bag at Hot Topic that was $6 on clearance. So I decided that I wanted to bleach pen stencil it. It turned out pretty good.

Then I wanted to stencil this book that had a felt like cover:

and last, but not least my zipper hoodie was too plain so I gave it a touch up. (all the swirls are done by hand.)

I was going to put wings on the back of it, but I thought that was too much on this jacket.

Anyway, sorry for all the pics. Tell me what you all think.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Charmed? on: December 26, 2007 10:25:28 PM
Hello... I'm in need of some help. My mom and dad are having a house built and we should be moving into it by mid February. I'm only going to be living there temporarily. I plan on getting my own place again with my boyfriend and our son. Until then I want to be able to have my room to have some kind of flair to it. My mom told me that I could paint the walls any color I want as long as it's something that can easily be painted over when I move out and not too outrageous. I kinda want to go with a theme kinda related to the TV. series Charmed. I remember watching a re-run of one of the episodes about a week or so back where Pheobe is in her room studying and I got a quick glimpse of her room. I have been searching for pictures of their rooms online and cannot find anything. Any one got any idea's?
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Diaper Bag Help on: November 26, 2007 07:18:59 PM
Well, I had my little man on the 11th! Yay! Anyway, i'd been doing some crafts involving a number of plain white onesies that I aquired for him (still not done with them either, lol). But now I'm onto a new challenge. While at the hospital, i received one of those free diaper bags that they give you when you have a baby. It's nothing special, it's just a plain black diaper bag. It didn't come with a changing pad or anything. Well, I was thinking about either turning it into a purse OR (and I might go with this idea instead...) I might use it as a clothing bag for his clothes for whenever we go any place for a weekend or something like that. Now what my dilemma is... it's so damn plain!!! It's just solid black. I don't do embroidery, so that's out. But I do have a slight obsession with fabric paint. So what I want to do is put some kind of really nifty design on it. No flowers or anything girly or babyish... My little man is a total rock star, lol. So I want something sorta hardcore, punkish, rock star etc. Does anyone have any tips or idea's? Or if anyone knows of any websites with some designs?
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Down will come baby... cradle and all..... on: November 23, 2007 09:10:47 PM
20 years ago when I was five my dad wanted me to have a baby doll bed that would last a life time, instead of a crappy store bought one that would fall apart. So he got busy and created the item that's below. Oh and by the way, the little extra that's inside of it... I made that, took me a whole nine months to do so (Note... it's not a doll lol)

Who would have known that an object my dad intended to be a toy for me would end up being used for my own son 20 years later? My mom had said months ago that we could use it for him, but we thought that it was going to be too small for a human baby (my dad cut the measurements down from a real life size cradle.). Well mom and dad were down in the basement today cleaning and got a good look at it and realized that my Little Man would in fact fit in it. So my dad ran up to the fabric store (that sounds so funny, my dad, the biker... in a fabric store hehe), got a piece of firm foam and some jersey fabric to make a mattress. My mom is going to make a slip cover for the foam later. Right now we've got it tightly wrapped with a sheet. Oh, and for size reference... my son is 9lbs almost 2oz (he's only 13 days old too). So he's slightly smaller than a 12lb turkey.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Newborn Ornament help on: October 29, 2007 11:00:45 AM
Well I'm getting closer to my due date (Nov. 10th) but I could have him any day now, next week or the week after. I want to make a baby's first Christmas ornament for him. However, I don't want to knit or crochet him one. I do have yarn to use if I need to. I just don't know what to do. Anyone got any ideas?
9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Devil Horns - need advice UPDATE in original post on: October 25, 2007 01:50:02 PM
A friend of mine bought some fimo clay so that I can make him some devil horns for Halloween. Well I was looking over the clay and I'm not sure that I have enough. I won't be seeing him again until the day of Halloween, and I don't have the money to go out and get another pack of the clay. Now I do have a couple of containers of play dough. This won't by any chance bake OK in the oven will it, or is my friend screwed out of a pair of horns for his costume? Any other idea's? I thought about calling him saying he needed to get some more clay, but because he works at a diary and the holidays are vastly approaching, he's been hit hard with over time and won't have a chance to get more and bring it to me.

UPDATE: Well guess what. My eyes apparently see things smaller than they actually are. There was enough of the clay in the package to make the horns after all. I got them made and my friend loves them (he was able to pick them up on his way home from work last night). However guess what forgetful me forgot to do? Take a friggin' picture of them!!! I'll try and get him to stop by before he goes to his party tomorrow so I can get a quick pic of them.
10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Costume for a Preggo? on: October 14, 2007 07:56:52 PM
Hey all. I'm just entering my 9th month of pregnancy (he's due Nov. 10th!) Provided I don't have him before or on Halloween, I was wondering if anyone had any idea's for a costume I could wear? I won't be going out anywhere that night (originally promised my boyfriends 12 year old nephew I'd take him T or Ting, but that was before I got knocked up, lol), because I might be on bed rest, but I'll be handing out candy to the kids. I need something that won't scare them, or give them a bad impression (so no pregnant nuns, lol) I was at one point thinking of being a friendly witch (I am wiccan, so it'd make sense). I have a hooded cape. Any idea's? Also, I have almost no money so I got to do something with things from home.
