1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Matchboxes beautified on: February 09, 2011 10:10:18 AM
For the matchbox swap I decorated two regular matchboxes and prettied them up.
The pink one was for Milady the other was for Sinjah. I nearly kept them both myself  Tongue

Everything I used for decoration was already in my stash. I would love to hear your thoughts.
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Question about register form on: November 06, 2010 11:23:15 AM
I have a question about the register form for joining etsy.
I'm thinking about selling (I've already got a name, photo to use in the banner, idea's on what to sell and everything).
It might be a simple question, and I'm sorry for opening a topic just for this,
but if I'm going to do it, I'd better do it right.

What I wanna know is if your first and last name should be your real first and last name,
or if they should be the same as your username? Also, could you tell me how your first and last name would show up on etsy? Only in your profile, or anywhere else? Thanks a lot!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Whimsical book on: August 08, 2010 11:45:01 AM

I altered this chunky book for the jar of whimsies swap, I made it for Amylili. It's a mini book she can put pictures of her cats in. I used colors she likes; black, orange and red. It was a little children's book and quite small. It could fit in the palm of my hand. After altering it the book couldn't close normally anymore, although I used only flat items to embellish it. Any tips on how to avoid this?

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Hoot! Altered Altoids tin on: June 24, 2010 06:36:52 AM
I wanted to share this Altoids tin with a broader public. I altered this tin as part of a thank you gift the generous Quaggy in the 'Givers and needers' swap. She likes owls and so do I, so I loved making this tin for her. I do like feedback, as it can help me to get better at paper crafting! Without further ado, on to the pictures.  Wink

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / not so valentine-ish box on: January 24, 2010 07:53:19 AM
I read the title: altered matchbox challenge. I immediately loved it and went to craft.
I wanted to make a little box to improve my self esteem, as I was running a bit low on that.
I always find great power in butterflies. I see their change from a caterpillar to a creature so beautiful and free as the ultimate kind of magic. I compare it to my own growth over time and it helps me look at the future as something that can only get better.

I read the message better second time around and discovered that the box should be valentine themed. My box was done at that point. I decided my box is to remind myself to love and have faith in myself and to boost my self esteem when I need it. So this is my little empowerment box. So I hope this counts as an entry, and if it doesn't I still love it.

The box from all sides.

Inside is a metal butterfly I can wear on a necklace and a little lucky doll.

And just for fun: the 'before' pic.
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / old cabinet into something new! on: March 13, 2009 08:48:17 AM
This is something I did last year, with a lot of help from my brother and father. How nice of them huh?
So I left my parents house and got this really old cabinet from a nice lady my mother knows. It stood on her Attic catching some dust. It was real dirty because it had a thick layer of nicotine on it (she smokes in her house). But we managed to make something nice of it!

Before:
I forgot to make a pic with the doors and stuff in it. Ah well..

After:

Amazing what a little paint can do! The handles where from brass I think, we spray-painted them silver. On the place the basket is now where to glass panels, which I didn't like.

I would love to pick up more old stuff and revamp it a little!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Decorating without paint or holes? on: July 12, 2008 11:55:26 PM
Hiya,

So I just rented this lovely huge apartment, but all the walls are white.
I live there temporarely for a small price to prevent other people from wrecking it.
Problem is the apartment is HUGE, but I am not allowed to paint or drill holes in the walls. Everything has to stay the way it is now.
I am asking you all for tips to decorate the walls, I was thinking of those wall decoration stickers, but I am worried the paint will come off if I remove them. I also need a solution on what to do with my pictures/paintings and a hallstand, since I can't drill holes. It must be cheap and easily removable. also any advice on displaying things as I can't hang up shelves.
Thanks for your help.

Weet iemand waar ik deze zou kunnen kopen?
Ik heb al gekeken bij de Bruna e.d. maar heb niks kunnen vinden.
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Mothers day scraps-Bookmark on: May 08, 2008 06:40:36 AM
I made this bookmark for mothers day, it's entirely made of scraps from scrapbook-paper, scrap ribbons and some flowers I had lying around. I made this because she recently bought a book, and just stuffs a post-it between the pages to mark how far she is. That's gotta change! The first pics are a bit to bright and don't show the colors to well, the other to show the colors better. So, What do you think?

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / bead & ribbon key chain hangers! on: May 03, 2008 11:53:19 AM
So, this is my first time making something jewelery-like. I made key chain hangers out of beads en ribbons I had lying around. I wanted a hanger on the key of my bike so could find it easier in a bag and just because it looks so funky!  The black & white one is for my bike, the multicolored one for my mother's. They came out better than I thought!
