I was about to suggest the Warehouse too, in their craft/scrapbooking section (obviously) Cheesy
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: <3 Summer Dress with Heart-shaped Pockets <3 [Image Heavy] <3 on: November 18, 2007 03:51:42 AM
I agree, Aussie Craftsters rock! Wink  And so does your dress, I especially like the colour, it really suits you.  And those pockets are just darling.

ROLL ON SUMMER!!!!  Although, as a country girl at heart, I have to ask, where did all the rain go?!  Huh
3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 11/16 on: November 18, 2007 03:26:06 AM
I have nothing constructive to add but I just had to come and have a look.  Then I found this:
I didn't realize the whole population of the world was born between the second and third weeks of November.

And I just had to say, guess what's nine months before the first half of November?  That right folks, it's Valentine's Day!!!!  Guess what THEIR parents were doing?! :p
4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: jumbo flyer and bobbin help... is this really a double drive? on: November 11, 2007 04:32:42 PM
It's a double drive wheel as it is.  The "drive" part refers to what's happening on the flyer, not necessarily on the wheel.  If the flyer has two grooves as your's does, it's a double drive.

But:
Since the jumbo flyer is a whole new maiden, you could probably get the single drive and rig up a tension brake.

This should work Cheesy
5  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Re: where do i get glass/microscope slides in sydney???? on: November 11, 2007 03:30:32 PM
We have them at La Trobe in Melbourne and I know RMIT has them as well.  Do you have other shops on campus besides the bookshop?  I know that La Trobe sells them in their own shop (ie the one that sells all the uni merchandise, which is not the bookshop), but I've asked at the bookshop and sometimes they don't have them in.

If all else fails, I'll do you a personal swap Cheesy  PM me if you're interested.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Floral Lace Anklets from Lace Style {sort of img heavy} on: November 09, 2007 06:16:03 PM
Almost a shame I have to give them away  Wink

Isn't that always the way with handknits? Cheesy  I think these are very beautiful and after all the effort that went into them (I also knit socks), I hope they fit your SIL!

You HAVE been busy!  I love your Isabeau purse, it's just divine and it looks like it holds all the necessities too, even though it's small and cute!

If you are anywhere near a uni that has a science course, check out their bookshop.  Most bookshops sell microscope slides for the science nerds Cheesy
9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: First needle felting projects on: November 08, 2007 04:13:33 AM
Patrick reminds me of a story book we had when I was a kid about a bear called Corduroy who gets lost in a store overnight.  And there was another one about how he loses the button from his overalls and has to get a new one.  I think you did a great job and I especially love Patrick"s overalls!
10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Australian Tour (embroidery ring) Sign-ups CLOSED on: November 07, 2007 11:45:40 AM
Hey all,

I have been very remiss about this swap but there has been MASSIVE upheavals in our household this past month.  DH went on a business trip to Canada and on his way home got hospitalised in Honolulu with chest pain.  Very scary for us both, so I flew out to be with him and needless to say since I got back I've been up to my eyeballs in exam stuff for uni (thank god for special consideration is all I can say!)

So no, jane, the parcel isn't miss vicki's teatowel because that's still sitting in my embroidery basket where it was a month ago  Embarrassed  I will get onto it and have it in the post by the end of the week.

My sincerest apologies for disappearing, ladies, but like I said, unscheduled trips abroad for medical emergencies do not a conducive embroidery environment make!
