221  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / How to make buttons with fabric? on: June 12, 2006 09:43:25 PM
I was wondering if anyone knows how-or has another resource that would help me make fabric buttons. And I'm talking buttons you would put on a sweater or something, not pin-backs. Do I have to buy something to put it together? All I've found online are instructions for "rosette" buttons you make with fabric, but I was hoping to keep the fabric flat. Thanks a lot!

SO cute and creative!

I'm totally planning a bunch of crafts for my surgery recovery next week. I don't know how to NOT be busy! Blame the university I guess...

I love the collar on the halter top. I would wear it on the beach and anywhere else! Excellent fabric, it turned out great.

HeHe! You are so cute! I understand how you feel when you spend so much time on fixing problems that you just hate the thing in the end. But I think you made a lovely bag!

Look at the too-high pockets this way: at least your pen is sticking out so you don't have to open the bag or go digging around for it.

I'd like to know how you did the heart cut outs. I've been trying to do that with a cloverleaf, just cutting it out and sewing around the edge. But I don't like the messy threads along the edge. Did you do something different?

Stitches is my FAVORITE fabric shop ever! They also have yarns and embroidery stuff too. Be prepared to spend some money though. I always spend at least $40 when I go (But maybe Joann's spoils me with all those 40% off coupons and I'm just not used to spending full price on fabrics!). Everyone should visit. I always get a little overwhelmed when I first walk in because I just want to buy everything.
226  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Introducing Lewis Diablo on: May 18, 2006 11:06:32 PM
This is my first post on Craftster, so I thought I would start by posting my Lewis pillow...

I was inspired by the film short "Not Without My Handbag" which is on the movie Creature Comforts. All of you should add it to your Netflix, it's a cute film. He was a really quick project, made out of felt squares and embroidery for the details.

Why is he named Lewis? you ask. Well, if any of you have seen the movie Angel Heart, you will know. Thanks for looking.
