1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Wool yarn...stretchy or not? on: September 26, 2006 11:22:37 AM
Hi,

I'm interested in buying Knitpicks Wool of the Andes for a pullover sweater project. I'd like the sweater to be fitted. Can anyone tell me how much "give" 100% wool yarn has? I've never worked with wool before, and I don't know how to choose a pattern size, since I'm not sure if the wool fabric will stretch or be stiffer than the other fibers I've worked with. Can anyone shed some light on working with wool yarn and if you'd size up or down when working with it? Thank you so much for any advice you can give!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mondrian blanket on: July 09, 2006 08:48:13 PM
Hi!

This is my first completed project post Smiley  I crocheted this Mondrian inspired blanket as a surprise for my sister who is an art history major and a HUGE Mondrian fan.  The pattern came from Lion Brand and was done in Cotton-Ease  yarn.  It's all done in single crochet, and the finished blanket measured about 6' X 5'.  It took about 6 months (it was my first big project) and there were THOUSANDS of ends to weave in.  It definitely taught me to color change!  Hope you enjoy.
