4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Problem with hats---Help! on: February 15, 2011 05:11:32 AM
I am not a newby to crochet and have made many successfull hats in the past.  Lately I have noticed a problem.  When I make the hats, just general beanie types, I am getting a weird bump where the rounds connect.  It's misshappening the hats, does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?  TIA!!!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Messenger Bag from a pillowcase! on: April 20, 2009 05:19:32 AM
I had so much fun making this!  It's made of a cream colored pillowcase.  I hand embroidered the image.  I have no sewing machine so everything is hand-stitched.

Thanks to this post:
I came up with my own version.  I made these for my friend who is one of triplets.
All together:

Their back sides:

Roller Derby Ginger:

Zombie Ginger:

And Punk Ginger:

They really liked them but now I have a ton of people asking me to make a bunch of them!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Pretty Pin-up Pendants! on: October 24, 2008 04:16:55 AM
After messing with Diamond Glaze and making it work I came up with these:

8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re-Cycled Halloween Wreath! on: October 08, 2008 11:14:52 AM
I made this wreath using videotape, walmart bags, and a cheap ribbon.  Not bad for less than a dollar, eh?

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Diamond Glaze making weird colors? on: October 08, 2008 08:26:39 AM
I did a search and didn't find anything that answered my question so I'm trying here!  I just bought some blank pendant trays and Diamond Glaze.  The first batch turned out horribly because the color smeared while the glaze was setting.  So then I tried to paint the images with mod-podge first let it dry and tried again.  Here's what came out:

The image stayed true but the whole thing has a blue tinge to it.  Any ideas why and how I can fix it?  Thanks!

I made this for a friend of mine, I'm very pleased with how it turned out.  I might have to make another for myself!
