2  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Re: anyone here living in brisbane, australia? on: January 17, 2015 01:28:11 PM
Hi I am from Brisbane S'n'B.  We are no longer active here on Craftster and mostly now hang out on Ravelry and (of all places) Twitter where we are @BrisbaneSnB.  It can get a tad knit/crochet/spin -centric at times, but we are friendly to all sorts of crafty people.  The group was started here on Craftster back in 2006, and we still meet every Tuesday night at the Three Monkeys Café.  All are welcome Smiley
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Handspun and Handcrafts Swap Round 5 (SU through 1/20, SO 2/20) on: January 10, 2012 04:55:11 AM
Tempted. But I have been out of the loop on here for, oh man, years I reckon.  That may make folks nervous.

I did one of the very first Handcrafts for Handspun swaps, the first maybe, not sure.  But it was amazing.  I was a crafter in that one and I have that skien still, that is how precious it was and still is to me.  I kind of want to give back, now that I am an experienced spinner myself.

Hmmm, let me know if you find you need another spinner to balance the numbers.

Though none of us manage to be active on Craftster anymore  Sad  BNE S'n'B still meet in West End every Tuesday night without fail.  All crafts are always welcome.  Check out our thread in here.

The 3 Monkeys Cafe would not be a good place for papercrafts, I'll admit.  But everyone is welcome anytime they want to come and craft with us at Brisbane S'n'B.  I promise we still exist even though we are waaaaaaay too quiet here on Craftster.  The food and drinks are great and we are always friendly with new folks and out-of-towners.  No matter what craft you do, if you can stand to drag it out to the cafe you are welcome at out table (7pm Tuesdays).

Just logged in to check the thread to see if anyone has posted to see if we still exist.   Cheesy    Sooooooo slack about checking in.  Anyhwo, YES we are still meeting,  every Tuesday without fail.  We have only ever missed one meeting since 2005, and it was a couple of years back anyhow.  So come and stitch with us, we'll be nice I swear.  You can find us right out the back, you have to go through a few rooms to get to us so don't despair.  Be sure to order a slice of the green tea cake on the way through, it is great.  Oh and do not worry if you are not a knitter, we have had all kinds of Craftsters around our table, it is all good.   Kiss

Oh my, you got a sewing machine AND now you have all your books.   Grin  It would be all too much for me.  I'd have far too many new projects all of a sudden.   Roll Eyes

But we were there, out the back.  Both Kate and I were a bit late, but there was a big group this time.  It is a shame you did not find us  Sad  I did look to see if you had come to meet the Japanese group, but I did not see them either.

We will be there this Tuesday still, and I would not be surprised if the Japanese group are there too.  They are almost always there, and you know the only time we are not there is when the cafe is closed.
