1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Flowers Necklace on: May 01, 2007 02:05:30 AM
I got these flower beads recently, because they reminded me of a bracelet my grandmother gave me when I was tiny.
this is what I made with most of them, I still have some:

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Record Journal My Little Brother Made Me on: May 01, 2007 01:56:47 AM
This is one of my favorite things ever, the record journal my brother gave me when I graduated HS in 2004.  he made it himself that afternoon.
for various reasons, it makes me really sad every time I see it, but it's still one of those things I'd definately take with me if I were moving/the apartment was burning.  hopefully someday it will make me happy, and I will be able to write in it.
I do think there are clips of a manga in there, but I don't know which one.
I know how to make record journals, too (:
he taught me.  and I've figured out my own little tricks for them, since.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Pillows I made in middle school- Trapunto, log cabin-ish, butterfly piecework. on: April 29, 2007 05:05:49 AM
I'm going through some old photos tonight.  These were pillows I made in middle school, maybe early high school, and the pictures are from my senior year (2004).

It's kind of hard to tell, but the cat on the cat pillow stands out through trapunto (it has fiberfill on top ofthe pillow, bound by sewing a scrap fabric on the back on the outline of the cat).  I had a good sewing teacher (:
who also helped me piece together a butterfly:

and this is a better picture of the tare panda pillow.  I gotthe fabric off Ebay, before Sanrio had authorized their fabrics for sale in the US (I believe).  it was a thin cotton.  The lines aren't straight, but that wasn't really what I was going for.

and one more:

thanks for looking!
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Glycerine Soaps in Basket on: April 29, 2007 04:57:36 AM

These are glycerine soaps I made, actually a few years ago.  I'm going through pictures right now  Cheesy
I like the green one with the purple bits in it, and the pink has bits of roses.
I'm going to start making more soap again, it's something I kind of do in phases, and now I have some more developed inspirations.
I alsomade the basket that they are in.  That was my second basket, pictures of the first are on the housewares board.
they soaps are wrapped in saran wrap, although I don't really like that.  it was the quickest thing I could come up with at the time to keep them from going sticky  Angry
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / baskets! on: April 29, 2007 04:50:35 AM
A woman from my hometown had a basketmaking studio.
she taught me to make baskets for free(:

this was my first one.
she also told me that basketmaking is one of the few (if not only) crafts left that must be done entirely by hand- every one you see.  that really surprised me, and made me think about how people all over the world work with their hands doing this.  I hope they are happy (:
I've made a few since then, and I'm decorating them/working with them, in hopes of coming up wih a sort of "altered basket".
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / A broken dog crate? on: April 29, 2007 04:41:33 AM
I have a broken dog crate- the latch is broken.  It's small, plastic and blakcish/gray.  does anyone think I can do something with this, before I somehow get rid of it?
I feel bad putting poor Izzy in a black crate, as it is.  he's a shy puppy.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Lots of new Necklaces (: on: April 29, 2007 04:38:31 AM
these have all been made fairly recently, but are old projects to me, and I just haven't posted them.  I'll have completely new ones soon!  Grin

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Trying to Crochet brain protector on: April 23, 2007 09:34:37 PM
I *kind of* know how to crochet...
tonight, I bought a skein of Lion Brand's soy/wool blend, at Micheals, and started crocheting in a circle.  I'd like to make a brain protector, and I'm wondering if there's a way to do that without a pile of flesh.  I'd just rather not worry about a pile of flesh yet.  I have a circle that's about 2" in diameter.  does anyone have ideas for what I could do?
thanks!

Details of unicorn zombie apocalypse:
I'm generally a really positive girl.  I know that I am, and that I always want to be.  but realistically, I struggle all the time with basic daily life.  Crafting, swaps, mail art, community, and just being around really RAAR grr ugggh people are all things that make a huge difference for me, and can help turn things around for me when I'm down.  So I decided to organize a unicorn zombie apocalypse where we can send each other packages filled with good- whatever you think that could mean for your partner.
Ideally, I think the nature of this unicorn zombie apocalypse might require a little more communication/effort to know your partner- so even though these are basic questions, feel free to tell me and/or your partner more about what  sort of unicorn zombie apocalypse items you might like, things that help give you energy and help you feel good, or about the things that get in the way of how you'd like your life to be.
I hope this goes well (:
I'm flexible in terms of number of items to send, 1 large and 2 medium/small, or I reallylike the idea of filling some size of flat rate box.  but I think that this can be decided between partners.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of unicorn zombie apocalypse

Your real name

Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?

What kind of crafts/things would you like to recieve?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the unicorn zombie apocalypse Info Guide to find out how to ship your bone and other details about participating in a unicorn zombie apocalypse.
