11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Used Book Swap Gallery! on: June 28, 2007 05:57:52 PM
I received a great package from elfslovelies, some great books, bookmarks and a great do not disturb door hanger. I'm going to try and post pictures tomorrow before I leave town. But if I don't I will definitely do it when I get back. elfslovelies was a super partner to work with, she sent me the following books (we agreed ahead time that we would swap extras) :
Master of Desire by Kinley MacGregor
High Energy by Dara Joy
Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson
Wolf at the Door by Christine Warren
How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn
They all sound fantastic and plan to have them read before the end of vacation!!

I too sent today, although my little surprise didn't make it, but I figured my partner could use a surprise gift later ( she had shoulder surgery on Friday morning, I heard all went well).

Still when I was that age with nothing to do all summer that is all I did NOTHING. Cheesy Ok when my mother wasn't telling me to clean something. I teach young kids and these day to find a young adult be so creative and self motivating is a rare thing. You have raised one cool kid! Wink

That was me, I found it also. The day I signed up for this swap I started thinking about that movie, hadn't thought about it in a couple of years actually. Couldn't get it out of my head so I looked it up, thinking about ordering it. Trouble is my older sister and I have been renting or buying old childhood memories we just adored as kids but when viewing them now they aren't as good. Kind of leaves us let down, disillusioned. But I could get inspired...

I hear ya! Photos period are unflattering to me, I don't normally take pix with me in them. But I think sassysword did such an extradornary job especially being as young as she is (sorry sassysword, I guess I should say younger than I) I feel I owe her some shots of her handy work on. I have hundreds of ideas, start 10 of them but can't ever finish more than 5. Ever have that problem? Of course here I am wide awake, could be working on my swaps but can't get off the computer.

I know what you mean, when I made mine I wasn't thinking shipping either of course when I went to put it in the box and mail it hit me. I'm hoping mine will make it soon and in one peice also.
By the way, I don't just like it, I LOVE it!

Yeah, try getting above the knee Cheesy, I think I might ask my neice to try and take the photo but lets hope she isn't like her aunt and can get atleast one clear shot. The shirt says Big Beauty but Big boned would have been good too. Which gives me a whole new idea. I feel so bad sassysword was quick ontop of things plus put together a great package and here I am still working on hers. Anyone else done?

Ok the climax is here, no more teasing (fingers crossed, hope like heck push post) did it work?

I don't have a favorite yet, this is all too good to pick just one thing I like best so I am going to say it is all my favorite stuff. I know I promised action shots those are coming the two I took didn't turn out. This is what you are feasting your eyes on- one radical skull skirt, too cool for words t-shirt with a rather beautiful woman I must say on it, skull earrings (that I'm hiding currently because I caught my neice trying to snag them), a necklace with some delicious looking food on it plus skull pins to wear on my shirt (very cleverly made) and a neat peice wall art. Last (by far not least) the craziest purse made out of tape with the words Ex. Lrg. on it. I swear I'll get some action shots to replace these, just didn't want anyone waiting anylonger!!

I can not say thank you enough- this was just the best swap I've been in since the last fat girl swap!! Thank you sassyword I sure hope you get a great big compliment in your feedback!!!

I recieved my most wonderful mobile from A_Patchwork_Orange it is just fantastic. I'm going to get my pictures downloaded to cd hopefully I'll be able to post by this evening! I can even begin to describe the creativity of this mobile, these objects I use everyday and sit around my studio and I never thought about arranging them this way. Wish me luck in getting some photos!
here they are, I wanted to show my mobile in its new home and then upclose so you can see the great little fabric squares and the top of it.

Thank you thank you thank you, can't say enough I absolutely adore the mobile you made me!
