Me and my friend Bertina made several record accessories this weekend, one being a purse and the other two being these earrings and cuff.

If you've got suggestions for other records ideas let me know! I've got 180 just waiting around.

13  Ahh! Help me!! How will I ever think of something in time? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by deepfriedkids on: June 04, 2006 03:44:37 PM
So, I am going to the International Thespian Conference, and they have themed dances, (forgive me if this is the wrong board?) but I have NO IDEA what I should dress as for "Stars through the Ages"
My guy friend is being Dr.Frankenfurter from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and my other friend is being a member of DEVO. I don't want to be outfit-less...so does anyone have any suggestions for me?

If it helps, This is what I look like:

My hair is normally a little past shoulder-length, it's just pulled back.

Feedback is definatley beyond appreciated!!
Thanks!  Cheesy

14  Embellished Felt Clothes in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deepfriedkids on: May 29, 2006 10:34:53 AM
So I had this ugly 1980's monster of a skirt that my friend, Becks, wore during my highschools production of Footloose...
It was floorlength, brown and jean. So I hacked it off to the knee and embellished it with some felt, buttons and sequins...

Close-up...

Yay for dinosaurs!!

Oh, I also made this tanktop much cooler for my friend, Leah. She wanted a fish...or a sea creature...

15  A Cooler POG Purse than the last one you saw in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deepfriedkids on: May 29, 2006 10:30:42 AM
So, I have this friend, see. And he gave me like 200 pogs for this endeavor. I got one of those spangley-sparkley-sequiny-bags that absolutley everyone in my school wears, and then I started making...THIS!!

I covered all the sequins with the amazing colorful cardboard circles.

How about some CLOSE-UP ACTION?!! YEEEAH!!

I know, I'm pretty excited, too.

16  A Squirrell Hat Sensation will Sweep the Nation! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deepfriedkids on: May 28, 2006 01:30:07 PM
So, I reconned an ugly hat with pompoms all over it, and mittens which were equally ugly to form this sensationally awesome squirrell hat...

I know. I know. You can hardly contain extremely awesome it is. Whenever I wear it people say to me, "Oh Lyndz. Your hat. It is...astonishing."

It's probably the best thing ever to happen to a hat. Trust me, every single day my hat says to me, "Oh, Lyndz. I love being like this. It totally sucked being an ugly hat." And I says to it, "Oh, Hat. I agree. I agree."

So, I have about 200 pogs lying around. I made a few things, one I am really proud of, but the pictures are still in my friends digital camera... until then, I made a couple hair barettes from pogs, sequins and buttons.

The pog says "It never hurts to axe!!" hah

18  Bubblicious Wrapper Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deepfriedkids on: May 03, 2006 05:10:23 PM
Simple, I know. But I thought i'd share...

I basically folded over about three wrappers and sealed them in tape, I used more tape to clasp it shut, but velcro could easily be a more lasting fix.
Feedback is appreciated, thanks!

19  THE BEATLES--Yellow Submarine tote-bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by deepfriedkids on: May 03, 2006 05:06:44 PM
So I made this bag out of felt, modpodge, magazine clippings, a canvas tote and hot glue.

BEFORE:

And, AFTER:

The text might be hard to read in the pictures, it quotes the song, "In the town, where I was born, lived a man who sailed to sea..."

The Beatles are amazing so I thought i'd make a bag expressing my love for them.
Feedback is definatley appreciated!
Thanks!

20  Fortune Cookie Fortune Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by deepfriedkids on: May 03, 2006 05:01:50 PM
So, I modpodged some fortune cookie fortunes, and make these earrings for a friend...

They could easily be altered to become hoops, if you wanted. We decided it'd be cute to maybe wear them with your hair up in those chop-stick hair-things. You know?
Well, feedback is appreciated! Thanks!
