1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Felt Squares - Check this site on: October 28, 2006 05:27:02 PM
Cheesy  Wanted to pass on info on felt squares for those who buy them and the prices are excellent.  Of course, I live in Hawaii and things are just naturally expensive for me.  I've purchased from this company, excellent-fast service.  They have some prints I haven't seen in felt squares.  Check it out!!   Grin

When looking for item, type in the word "felt".  They have printed, tie dyed, polka dots, glitter, etc.   Roll Eyes
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / YES ASIA AND ORDERING BOOKS on: September 22, 2006 12:15:40 PM
Hey All - I've ordered books from YesAsia and they are wonderful.  So far I am super pleased with the processing of my order and the timeframe in which I receive my items.  I would strongly recommend anyone who orders Asian craft books to try YesAsia.  However, I have made a suggestion to them about posting more cover pictures.  Because I don't know exactly what all the titles are, without pics, it's hard to order some books.  If anyone here has ordered books from YesAsia, one that didn't have a cover pic, please share the title, cover pic, and/or ISBN's.  I think this would be most helpful to many who like buying the Mascot and doll making books from YesAsia.  Anyone who would like to see my reviews can go to the site, and for the one's I own, I have written a description of the books.
3  ASIA / Japan / HAWAII GAL LOOKING FOR JAPAN PEN PAL on: August 23, 2006 04:40:56 PM
Aloha from Hawaii.  I am also looking for a penpal in Japan.  I'm half Japanese and love crafting.  I like making the felt mascot dolls and other things too.  I have a good collection of Japanese craft books and am always looking for new one's or old one's no longer in print.  Alittle about me - married, 46, 2 grown sons.  Would love to get to know someone in Japan.  I am currently attempting to learn to read and write Japanese.  I can speak alittle too.  Please message me if there is someone out there that would like to be a penpal.
4  UNITED STATES / Hawaii / JAPANESE CRAFT BOOKS on: June 09, 2006 10:48:04 AM
I've posted in a couple of places on this site about Japanese Craft Books.  I'm looking specifically for Country Doll by Gakken Interior Mook.  I've asked Hokubundo about these and I guess they don't special order out of print items.  Does anyone have a connection or someone who would be able to help me with getting these issues?  I started to collect them when I lived in Oregon a few years ago, and when I left and came back to Hawaii, tried to get them from Hokubundo with no luck.  Any help is appreciated from my local sista's.  Hugs - Terri  Smiley
5  ASIA / Japan / JAPANESE RAGDOLL AND MINI FELT DOLL MAKING on: May 04, 2006 12:23:11 PM
Okay, I'm just learning about this site I've joined.  Well I responded to NikoChan's mail and found out I can post a new topic.  I live in Hawaii and enjoying making Ragdolls and mini felt dolls from books like Ondori and Country Dolls (Gakken Interior Mook).  I just recently called our local Japanese book store to find out that Country Dolls is no longer in print.  Sad  However, I am looking for new Japanese Doll making books as well as possibly starting a pattern swap with this group.  The sites I've looked online are either in Japanese (which sadly being half Japanese, I am unable to read), or are sooooo expensive that it's ridiculous to try and even buy them online.

I will be looking at my local store, Hokubundo sometime this month.  They are in town and I live on the other side of the island....call me lazy  Roll Eyes  but, I would be more than happy to swap and share, and would appreciate any help or suggestions anyone may have.

Aloha from Hawaii - Is there anyone out there in this group that has sewn by hand or sewing machine; ragdolls and felt dolls from doll books from Japan?  Example books: Ondori, Gakken Mook, etc?   I have of this type of doll crafting books and wondering if anyone out there would be interested in pattern swaps.  Am interested in the Japanese books especially their mini felt dolls.  Would like to share patterns.
