282  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / painting from 10 th grade ... on: May 24, 2007 01:35:25 PM
Hello,

This painting isn't that great ... but its the only painting Iv done that I actually have in my hose .. my Mom takes most of them... any way .. I made this years ago ... in 9th or 10th grade .. and it actually got entered by the art teacher into a contest ( didint win ) but I was pleased it was even entered considering at the time it was in a white frame and I hated they way the whole painting looked ...

But several years later I tore the frame off and spray painted it black and wa la .. I all of the sudden could stand it ... the frame is now in terrible disarray and needs a new one .. just do to its age in general .. but My friend Rusty seems to really love  it and always remarks on it .. so i hope some one else likes it too....

its a photo of the painting sorry... Embarrassed

thanks so so much for looking
 Have a great night

Oh yeah its a shoe .. we had to do a cubist style painting of one of several objects the teacher had out on a table ....
283  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Rodney , Drew this car ...( color along) on: May 24, 2007 11:34:39 AM
Hello ,
I gotta tell you guys My boyfriend and is sister are both amazing artists .. they can look at anything and draw it or draw out of their heads... but neither one of them will ever display their works  Huh ... but ... I found one of Rodney's drawings in my folder .. so I'm posting it .. I'm sure he wont mind that much ( especially if he gets good feed
back )

He drew this car by looking at a itty bitty cartoon image of the same car on a hot wheels package ...I think it looks great .. but he is to picky and abandoned it without coloring it ...
any way here it is ...

 thanks for looking
I will try and get him to post some more of his drawings .. sometime...
Have a great day
Jayne

P.s. check out shydeana;s colored version .. and feel free to add your own.....

285  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I love ! aluminum can ashtrays ( thanks Nykole) on: May 21, 2007 06:53:42 PM
Hi everyone .. I saw some awesome Arizona green tea ashtrays..http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=67230
the other day posted By Nykole6412.. I thought it was a great idea and them my mom gave me 36 Arizona teas .. so obviously it was a sign for me to make some .. Ive been experimenting with a few variations .. Tell me what you think ....

I made the second one a bit deeper

This one I tried using 16 strips instead of 12 or 8
its a more open starry effect

And this one I made using 2 cans 1 Arizona tea and 1 Natural light can .. the Natty can is much shorter so it looks alot different than the others , but I really like it ! ( its my first attempt ) so .. its a lil rough

I'm trying all the variations , because I need as many as possible , as soon as my cousin saw them she decided she needed an out door mobil/wind chime and from them .. so ill post final pics of that when we accomplish it  Wink

As always thats for taking time to look ,
and SPECIAL THANKS TO NYKOLE6412 FOR THE GREAT TUTE !

 Have great night
Jayne

P.S.
Any more Ideas for cool can ornaments PLEASE POST !

edit : here are a few more...

286  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Gold corset ! on: May 14, 2007 06:19:01 PM
Hi everyone ,

Well Iv obviously been corset crazy for a while ... But this is definitely the nicest and most "Dressy " one Ive made so far..
The fabric is a really cool " possibly brocade " kinda material that is shiny but very sturdy .. and has an embroidered detail ( I got * yards at a rummage sale  Grin) it is brown but from certain angles it has a lot of gold and even a touch of red ..the inside is lined with yellow flannel . it has 4 bones in each side of the back ( I wanna do a fully boned , but I think I will need a different pattern to do that )and the most challenging part by far was making my own piping ! talk about a totall nightmare ...I couldn't find gold piping anywear so i used red piping and sewed some silky gold fabric from an old scarf around it ..very tedious work .. but worth it I think ...so here it is ...

not the best lacing job lol .. but we were in a hurry

and I even patched my pants to match ! Wink

I was going to add straps , but decided against it for now .. because i thought they looked a lil to Spartanish or like some wierd viking super hero ..lol

Please let me know what you think Cheesy

as always thanks for looking and have a great day

Hi!
The other day a cool craftstser named "  sidvicious151  "  Made this great pillow case skirt
from an awesome spiderman pillow case... That I happened to have the same pillow case so here is my version ( a dress)

I used streach lace for the straps annd trim .. it has a band of elastic just in the back .. at the top ., and had the 2 ties just for cuteness .. it was really quick to make like 15 or  20 min  Smiley

Thank you guys so much for looking !  Grin
Embarrassed sorry about the excess of pics )
As always I love comments  Wink

I made this .. Its really fun but a lil girly for my taste so I don't know if Ill keep it or not .. but it was really fun to make either way ...
