24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Rib cage / skeleton Antique lace and Vintage sweat shirt recon on: November 12, 2013 12:07:24 AM
Rib cage / skeleton Antique lace and Vintage sweat shirt recon ( I think this will be perfect for " ugly sweater " season ! )

I took a vintage 80s sweat shirt and 3 types of green antique lace and created this cool skeleton rib cage  ! Its pretty self explanatory , Just chalk out your rib cage ( you can use another shirt for reference , free hand it , or print a template online )  pin on your lace and zig zag stitch . Its easiest to do one side at a time ( or even a few " ribs " at a time to keep everything straight . This shirt is over 25 years old so it had a few light tiny discolorations so I spattered some darker purple fabric paint on and they are totally camouflaged !

I made a black and white version to - Ill add pics to this thread when I get them
Thanks for looking and have a great day

29  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / swamp ZOMBIE on: September 21, 2013 06:23:25 PM
Since the purple Zombie collection did so well the past few Halloweens

I proudly present dress #1 of the green "swamp zombie " collection

This collection evokes the feeling of a long rotted zombie so old in fact that the swamp has started to reclaim it ! Flowers , leaves and moss now drip from the still slightly animated corpse as it struggles to find its way from the swamp ... to YOU !

. Each of these one of a kind dresses is like a snow flake beautiful and unique ! I start with a "rotted zombie" Halloween print t shirt and with tatters , ruffles, and tiers of perfectly distressed hand dyed antique lace,  net ,sheers,  jersey , lots and lots of leaves , flowers   and more I create an amazing dress that will surely stand out at any Halloween event .. perfect for Zombie walks , school dances , parties , trick or treat or what ever Halloween mischief you get into Smiley or just wear it on days when you want to feel at one with the swamp !

Thanks for looking and have a great night / day

30  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Forest Fairy costume on: September 19, 2013 09:27:06 PM
I Love this Corset style mini dress so much If it was a bit smaller I would keep it for Myself !

This would be prefect for sooooo many Halloween costume -Fairy , woodland sprite ,forest Nymph , Pixie , Poison Ivy , leaf goddess , camo princess , swamp fairy , Moss fairy / Zombie swamp zombie and much more

The bodice is super this and sturdy ! Fully lined in Egyptian cotton and quilted in a style inspired By Gibbous designs with 2 rows of boning and strong canvas eyellets for lacing . Layers and layers of scrappy lace and tattered net along with remnants of various green and Earth tone fabrics , bits and pieces of many treasured items even a beautiful silk screened wing and tiny gold leaf charms all stitched together to create the mossy tree bark like effect of this  bodice . The whole thing is finished off with an attached leaf skirt , Many colors and patterns of different green silk/ acetate leaves ombre down to golden fall harvest leaves at the bottom . Two under layers of super soft fabric for comfort !

The bodice is a bit big on Me pictured and would be even more flattering on a larger frame

This is not a " waist cinching " corset . This is a fashion corset -style top. Slightly structured but still comfortable and flexible .

 Thanks so much for looking
 Have a great night/ day
