1  Re: Hogwarts Favorite House Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by rhinestonextract on: June 16, 2007 01:59:02 PM
i recieved from stichandstones over a week ago so here are pictures of the fabulous things she sent me  -

The scarf and the pillow are my favs - she imagined the scarf was knitted by dumbledore and it represents a knitted river HOW AWESOME!
and the pillow isa recon from a little boy's tshirt and it's awesomely soft.  she also knitted me a great hat and hot pad, and included yarn in the same colors.  i love it all!  thank you so much!!!

so i got my package from superhooker today, and it is awesome!
the first thing i found is one of those sweet toys that grows when you put it in water -

then this gorgeous yarn -

the red on the right is my favorite

there was a TON of ribbon, elastic, trims, everything!

and then a TON of fabric!

and then my favorite part, a vintage sewing book that is in perfect condition -

i love it all so much!
i think the first thing i am going to do is use this fabric you sent me (which is my fav and an awesome print)

and make this dashiki from the book

thank you sooooooooooooo much superhooker!!!!

6  experimental quilt sample - bleached not dyed in Dyeing: Completed Projects by rhinestonextract on: May 01, 2007 06:53:55 PM
this is a sample of a quilt i will make (some day...).  it isn't typical quilting, that's why i'm calling it "experimental" --> it's for my fibers class.  i did a reverse shabori dye, i started with black fabric and tyed it all up and bleached instead of dying.

7  seat belt jewelry (img heavy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by rhinestonextract on: April 03, 2007 12:01:26 PM
i made these pieces for school - it was inspired by modern day armor (seatbelts vs shields etc) so the pieces are very bulky, most protecting the neck and wrists.
ps - that isn't me in the photos, i had a friend model
