1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Needle Felted Skull mat on: February 25, 2006 04:36:19 PM
I made this back on the first wet felting  felt along. I had made my daughters cute felted soaps and wanted to do something for my son. I saw where  had needle felted somedesigns before wet felting them onto the soap so I decided to try it for my son. he plays Hockey and his teams emblem is a pirate with crossed hockey sticks. Well I got the hockey sticks down pretty good but  I had so much trouble with the pirates face and hat that I turned it into a skull , even cooler. But I had  needled it so much I couldn't get it to felt onto the soap so I just squared it up and made him a mat to rest his cell phone on
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My purse made from recycled wool appliqued and embroidered. on: November 17, 2005 04:11:39 PM
I made this from an old coat and 2 skirts.  After taking them apart  I felted the pieces in hot soapy water.  I used a commercial pattern for the bag. I appliqued and embroidered the front piece before I put it together. Thanks to the Jordy Tutorial here  I was able to line it- with the lining I'd saved from the coat!
