1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Help with glitter! on: November 05, 2008 11:03:53 PM
When I stencil things, I always coat the words/pictures with glue and then use fine glitter over it, and I have no problems with it coming off because it sticks so well. I unknowingly purchased and used glitter that wasn't fine, and now it's coming off everywhere. If I wipe at it so the excess comes off, ALL of it comes off and leaves patches without any glitter at all! Is there any kind of like .... spray or glue or anything I can use to coat this so it doesn't come off? Thank you!
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / I don't dance, but I sure am obsessed with it... [slightly img heavy] on: March 21, 2008 05:31:08 PM
So I'm probably the biggest Dancing with the Stars geek you'll ever have the misfortune of meeting  Cheesy My friends and I are all obsessed and we each have a favourite dancer, and we dubbed the four of them the "Dance Mafia". Well, of course, I had to make shirts!! So I made them jersey style, and the backs have the names and place whichever dancer got.

Kym Johnson and her partner Mark Cuban got 8th place! Sad Sad.

I'm on the left, and my favourite, Karina Smirnoff and her partner Floyd Mayweather, only got 9th Sad While my friends' favourite, Jonathan Roberts and his partner Marie Osmond, got 3rd!

But my other friend is the lucky one, her favourite Julianne Hough and her partner Helio Castroneves got 1st!

Then I decided I need to show MORE DWTS love and I made this hoodie. No upcloses, sadly, my camera is being a baby lately, but it's glittery and outlined with rhinestones! Oh, and I look like an idiot.

Watch and be sure to vote for the Dance Mafia and their new partners!! Cheesy

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Deliciously girly hoodie. Stripes + Pink = Love *TUTORIAL ADDED* on: January 05, 2007 07:05:05 PM
I LOVE THIS. I just don't get the sleeves thing.... if you sew them on right side up with the shirt inside out, won't the sleeves end up inside out once it's done?
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / What to make for a sad friend - help asap on: November 19, 2006 09:23:46 PM
My friend has been really sad lately and tonight was pretty much the last straw for her and she burst into tears. She's not a crier. Immediately, I started to think of things I could do for her - I've made her a wallet out of tea bags, cos she loves tea, and I'm about to stencil her a tote bag of Finland, which is her favourite country. Does anyone else have any ideas of what I could make her?

List of other things she likes -

- plays
- basketball
- board games
- movies
- music

ANY suggestions are welcome. I want to give this to her tomorrow Sad Thanks for anything, guys.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Handles for a duct tape bag? on: July 03, 2006 08:34:46 PM
Bump? I made a makeshift handle, but I don't really like it... it's a duct tape handle. Here's me - being a dork - and the bag in action...

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Handles for a duct tape bag? on: July 02, 2006 02:14:30 PM
I've made two duct tape bags before, but they were really weak and thin. I just used more duct tape to make handles, and they didn't really hold up well. This bag is really heavy - I used about seven layers of tape on each side - and I really don't have any more tape to make handles. Does anyone have any idea of things around the house I could use? My mom won't really take me to JoAnn or Michael's to buy handles. I've thought of using a tie, but I'm not quite sure how strong that'd be, or how to attach it. I'd also like the handle to be long enough that I can wear it across myself... you know, where you wear a bag strap diagonally across your body? Yeah. Thanks to anyone who helps Smiley
