52  Pretty Little Boxes in Completed Projects by aliceownsj00 on: October 13, 2007 11:06:59 PM
Normally I am a digital graphics type person, but all my inspiration for that has dried up  Cry

But working at a craft store helps give me ideas for more hands on things. So today my hubby and I went up there (mainly so I can bug my coworkers haha) and I got some cardboard boxes shaped like hearts and stars; paint; ribbon; and little gems and decided I was going to decorate some boxes!

I live at my grandmothers house, so my hubby and I can't really decorate as we want... bummer.

The star was my first one... I was kind of just doing whatever came to my mind... the stripes on the top were so freehand and resemble more zebra than straightness. The heart I used painters tape and tried to get them on there straight. I could've used a t-square for this, but I didn't want to wait till tomorrow.

I hot glued ribbon around the body of the star and heart, then around the edge of the lid of the heart... *note: hot glue is hot... owie.*

Used folk art paint, I like it. If you want to know the colors, lemme know and I shall gladly tell you.

53  True Love Stichery in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by aliceownsj00 on: October 06, 2007 09:42:34 PM
So yeah, I try to be crafty, not much time since I have a job. Funny though, I work in a craft store! Ah, life is funny at times ain't it?

My mom bought me this cross stitching kit with some modern looking designs, and I was bored at work (working in the framing department is pretty boring sometimes.)at I did this. First kind of stitching thing ever, so it's kind of a mess, but I like it! I added 'True Love' myself, because it looked cute.

Here are some pictures, my crappy camera that only my husband can use for some reason! yayers.

54  I need some help! in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by aliceownsj00 on: May 03, 2006 04:36:36 PM
I bought a new desk about two months ago, and it's made of that fake wood with that wood plastic covering that can peel off like an ugly sticker! Personally, I don't like wood furniture, mainly because I grew up in a house full of it and it was too much. Anyways, back to the desk! It's ugly, and bothering me now, and I want some color to it, but I don't think paint would stay on it.

There are some pictures of it. Does anyone have any idea on anything I could do to turn this desk pretty??
