I have a journal I need to send to Australia. I can never make it to the post office because they're never open when I'm not working. If I have some of those green labels and I print up a packing slip on paypal, can I drop the package off in any ol' mailbox?
My understanding is that you cannot drop an international package into a drop box. Even with carrier pickup at your door, you can only use carrier pickup if you hand the package to the Postal Carrier (you can't just leave it on your porch as you can with domestic pacakges).
You can, however, print the postage at home and just run it into the Post Office and drop it there without waiting in line.
It makes me sad to read everyone's bad experiences with the Post Office. I'm so very lucky to have the world's greatest mail carrier and a really good Post Office too.
BTW, I haven't "spoken" here in a while, but I visit often and have enjoyed reading about everyone's successes and looking at your new items. I just haven't had much of anything to say lately ... But anyway, hello all
Yes, mine all went down to 1 also, except the last one in the shop for some odd reason. I suppose it has something to do with the maintenance work they did last night. I was hoping that part of the maintenance would be the return of the shop counters, but alas, it does not appear to be so
I had a thought stirring in my head that I wanted to share with all of you. For those of you who frequent the Etsy forums, you may have noticed a rise in folks talking about bad buying experiences on Etsy. It's only natural, given that the number of sellers has risen so sharply and also the number of abandoned shops on Etsy, but it got me to thinking about promos.
I know lots of folks ask for promos and share promos on Etsy, but is that really a good idea? I think it's great if you know the seller a bit, such as the fellow Craftsters you know here or perhaps a seller you've purchased from the in the past. BUT, when it's just a random seller on Etsy or even a group swap of promos, I got to wondering if it's really such a good idea to have your promos or biz cards or whatever it might be distributed by another seller you don't know. What if that person provides rotten service or has a substandard product and YOUR biz card or discount offer is in the package they send out? Or worse yet, what if you include someone else's promo in your package and then one of your customers has a lousy experience with that seller. It's as though you referred them to the seller and then they got burned. EEK!
Anyhow, maybe I'm just paranoid, but I thought I'd pose the thought here just as a caution. There are plenty of wonderful Craftster sellers as well as a ton of reputable sellers with great reputations on Etsy to share promos with, so perhaps it's a good idea to be selective in promo swapping.

Anyone ever get that post sale rush withdrawl? I made some sales everyday for several days, and was riding high. My shops been quiet for a few days, and now I feel like I am on withdrawl. WTH is wrong with me LOL!!??
Absolutely, FineGirl! I drive my husband nuts. My sales have been great but everytime I have a slow few days, I'm convinced that it's all over and it was just a fluke. I'm finally starting to get over that a bit, but now any time I even mention slow sales, hubby says, "Well, it must be over. You better start looking for a job."
For someone who is supposed to have such vast knowledge of mosaics, I find it strange that you have copied, word for word, the intro to my mosaic descriptions. I discovered this when I saw you had hearted one of my mosaics, and so I was interested to see your work as well.
If you had asked I would have been more than happy, and even flattered, but to use my intro in your own description without asking was unnecessary.

I only saw your posting about this just now, but I was the gal Sweets remembered who dealt with this same issue (although even worse ... someone copied and pasted my entire listing, just plugging in their yarn types and colors). I'm really glad the item views are back up! it's encouraging that I know people are looking at my store since I don't have any sales yet I'm going to add a few things since I am in the showcase Sunday..but it's awfully close to xmas...fingers crossed!

On another note ... Has anyone had any problems with Etsy today? I got an e-mail from a customer today who said she's been trying to order but it doesn't seem to go through. No transaction e-mails and not showing up as sold. Hmmmm ....
