1  PJ Pants! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kixeldorado on: September 07, 2015 10:16:42 AM
Hey all! It's been a while!
I quit craft blogging, but I finished some stuff and felt like sharing.

The thrift store down the street from me has fabric! One day when I was in there, I picked up this cute green cotton print, and a purple and white stripe (that became a robe that I haven't taken pictures of yet because I'm not sure I'm done with it).

(dammit, rotated image...sorry.  Tongue )

This was the pants pattern portion from New Look 6928. I added length (because I hate short pants unless they're tight).

First time doing a buttonhole type opening for the ribbon, too. I think it came out ok.

2  Circle Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kixeldorado on: May 21, 2009 08:27:13 AM
I made a skirt!

Just a basic circle skirt, and I got to use my new serger, AND my new twin needle for my regular machine.  That makes me oddly giddy.  I guess that means I'm a sewing nerd?

I put a zipper and hook and eye on it...

Does anyone have ANY tips on making putting in a zipper less of a pain in the ass?

3  Tasty Teal Tunic in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kixeldorado on: May 11, 2009 09:59:31 AM
I found the fabric in the remant bin the other day and knew it had to become my shirt.

It's actually pretty long - it comes down to the middle of my hips.  Right now that's ok because I despise shirts that are too short.  I may end up cutting a little bit off later - we'll see...

4  My cats are so arty...and pretentious. :) (photos) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by kixeldorado on: June 28, 2008 10:44:37 AM
Some photos I've taken that I finally got around to uploading...

Joe, the arty one...

Wenz, who pretends to be pretentious whenever I bring out the camera:

plus, a bonus flower from when all the bushes outside my house were blooming:

Hey all...
I'm realizing that I miss art.  But it only comes to me in spurts.  Sad

I did these the other day at work...

6  ring ring! cell phone holders in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by kixeldorado on: February 19, 2008 10:30:22 AM
My BF wanted me to make little cell phone purses for his daughters....

They loved them!   Yay!
(it always makes me happy when I can make the girls happy)

I kind of want one for me, but I think mine will either be bigger or have more pockets.

7  Black & Blue Violet in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by kixeldorado on: February 19, 2008 08:57:11 AM
I finished my Violet Beauregard!!

It actually didn't take that long at all - the longest part was making the top long enough to cover my butt.  Smiley

8  My FBB has some junk in the trunk... in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by kixeldorado on: December 02, 2007 01:39:02 PM
Because it turned out huge.  Turns out the yarn my mom got me wasn't worsted, it was BULKY weight!  Ah well.  Now I can just fit a very annoyed cat, as seen by the photo.

Anyway.  Finished it today.  I could tell by the time I started the first handle flap I wouldn't have enough of the original yarn for both, so I made a last minute pinch hit with some extra wool ease I had lying around.  It wasn't quite what I expected, but it's done!

9  Pink Shiny robe in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kixeldorado on: November 05, 2007 10:34:36 AM
I made this last week on my day off -

pink brocade with dragonflies from fabric.com

I used a New Look pattern for cutting out the pieces, but I don't remember what number it was.  I ended up modifying them anyway...

Back view:

Also, I'm falling in love with bias tape.  Smiley

10  Pink Baby Star! in Crochet: Completed Projects by kixeldorado on: October 21, 2007 12:26:49 PM
So using one of the myriad baby star afghan patterns, which I only mildly flubbed up, out came this!

I used the giant ball of Joann Sensations rainbow boucle in "red" but it's really pink.  The variegated-ness made for nice stripes.  And I still have a half of that huge skein left.

It's already gotten to the mom-to-be, she loves it!  enough that she threatened to keep it for herself and not let the baby have it!  (I kid....at least she said she was kidding...oh my...)  Wink

The best part?  I actually finished it before the baby got here!  Amazing!
