I believe that the hair + cancer thing has to do with Chemical dyes... not vegetable based dyes such as Special Effects/Manic Panic. And it is only proven to INCREASE YOUR CHANCES of getting cancer, not just give it to you all wrapped up with a neat little bow. XD

If anything, just worry about over bleaching your hair and damaging it. =P Other then that I think you are safe.

^^ Aw thank you.
I was really surprised when people said how well it suited me.
The night I dyed it I was nearly crying cause I thought it looked horrible. Turns out I just felt like crap in general. XD Haha.

I'm really in love with it, I'm just going to be depressed when I eventually get bored with it. Sad

Oh wells, I can always return to it. Smiley

And thank you, Pixie (my puppy) sure would love the compliments. XD

It's great that you seem to have gotten pretty much exactly what you photoshopped!

I'm guessing you bleached your roots first?
^^ Yes, I also bleached out the pink and soap capped the green that was in the front. The Napalm went over the dull pink and green perfectly though.

I decided to go orange. Napalm Orange. Originally I was going to cut my hair first... but well... I was too broke. So I decided to dye my hair first. Within the next week or two I should be getting it cut. More on that farther down. Anywho...

Before: (faded, rooty, goodness)

Color wanted: (silly photoshopping)

What I achieved...:

What do you think? ;o
^^ I love it.

There's a streak of Fishbowl and Raw Pink underneath, but it was put there not to show unless I wanted it to.

I totally need to find that Lucious Rasberries, gorgeous color.  Where did you get it?

XD Walgreens. I randomly saw it while walking through, and since I didn't feel like waiting on ordering Special Effects I decided to just go with it. Plus I had to rebleach my roots and it came with bleach. -shrug- Tongue

Thank you all for the compliments. XD

How much did it run you?  And it CAME with Bleach!?!?  Oh man, I'm gettin that stuff ASAP.

Only 9.99. Tongue Thats why I went for it. I figured worst case scenerio... the dye sucked but at least my roots were bleached. XD

fishbowl, i love your rainbow hair! i noticed that you used several diffrent types of dye. which brand would you recomend?
Special Effects all the way. Normally I order it  from http://www.amphigory.com because  Hot Topic usually doesn't have the colors I look for. But as mentioned, it is extremely bright and holds well. ^^

Here are the shoes I made for my boyfriend's grandma as a Christmas gift. They told me to make them as colorful and tacky as I could. Do you think I succeeded? XD My boyfriend told me things about her to incorporate. Such as her being a breast cancer survivor and loving the ocean and rainbows. XD

My boyfriend sketched one and I colored it, and then we switched and I sketched one and let him color it. So really it we worked as a duo.

Before:

After:

-is majorly late putting both of these up-

Anyway, she loved them and wears them to the bar all the time. Rofl. XD

Personally I just found them adorably tacky. =P Especially being worn by a granny in a bar.
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! on: December 29, 2006 01:44:15 PM

I've been around a while and I've shown off quite a few of my hair colors.
My most recent was this one which was featured on http://www.amphigory.com.

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=30298.msg1213110#msg1213110

Sadly, the dye was way too much to keep up with. At 8 dollars a bottle, and 7 colors...it just ended up being very expensive.

So I let my hair fade out.

Then I bleached my roots and done a soapcap to remove the extra red that was refusing to fade.

When I was done I ended up with this.
Please note that my camera is being a whore and is showing the purple as a dark blue. And the white blonde in my coontail looks greenish. ;_;

The right side is Wildflower, and the left side is Fishbowl with a fishbowl and white/blonde striped coon tail. Smiley

It turned out different than how I wanted...but I really like it anyhow.
