1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Love Snail Pumpkin! on: October 22, 2009 04:40:37 PM
I went over to my friend's house today, and ended up coming home with this:

Not very Halloween-y, but I still like it.  Sorry the picture isn't the best quality, my camera really doesn't like darkness.
2  CANADA / Atlantic Canada / Fabric/Yarn/General Craft Stores in New Brunswick? on: August 17, 2006 10:51:34 PM
I'm planning on moving out there for university in a year... anyone know of any good fabric or yarn stores in or around Sackville?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help me make my Grad dress? on: August 07, 2006 09:14:08 AM
So, I've decided to be an idiot and attempt to make my own graduation dress.

I've already bought a pattern (simplicity 4655), fabric (enough for a practice dress and the 'real' dress), and various extra stuff I need (interfacin, zippers, etc.)

I've never used a pattern before.
I've never made anything more complicated than a skirt and some bags.
I'm scared.

I figure I'll probably have fifty billion questions throughout the course of this endeavor, so I might as well just make one huge board for them all.  Yay!

First question, so I can at least get the pieces cut!
- Is the seam allowance included on the pattern?  Like, if I decide that I want to make a size 20w dress (what's with patterns being sized differently than RTW stuff, anyway?), do I cut along the 20w line, or do I need to add seam allowances, or what?

Stupid, I know, but like I said before, I'm an idiot.  Smiley

Thanks in advance for your help!
