Amazing! Hubby reading over my shoulder is in LOVE with them. Yay you!
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: candy colored brickwork quilt! on: December 29, 2007 07:42:27 AM
Gorgeous! I love it!
I've never seen this style of quilt before. I think this just became the new project I'll work on in these last few days of holiday break before I have to go back to work. Thanks!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Reusable alternative to wrapping paper (pic chubby) on: December 27, 2007 07:43:16 AM
Adorable! We recirculate all the boxes, bows, tags, cards etc in our family. Shirt boxes from department stores that haven't existed for a decade are still making the rounds! In fact, if you get a gift that is "traditionally" wrapped in pristine paper, it means you are new, or foreign, or...we're somehow frightened of you!

This is a really attractive addition to our list of ways to present gifts to each other without resorting to regular ole paper.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Who's thinking about next Christmas already? on: December 27, 2007 07:17:47 AM
I'm going to make two lists today to help the brainstorming process next year:

#1: Hints and ideas for gifts that I picked up in conversation with people during the holidays THIS YEAR, so I'll remember next year when I start trying to think of craft projects for gifts.

#2: An inventory of my holiday craft supplies. As I'm cleaning & putting things back in their storage tubs, I'm going to make a general list of things that I have on hand so I can plan projects accordingly. If I remember before Christmas Eve 2008 that I snagged some gorgeous handmade paper from the trash pile this year, maybe I have a shot of actually turning it into gift tags ahead of time!

I woke up this morning with the goal of turning every single paper & fabric scrap, gift bag, ribbon, etc. that I've horded into actual crafts by next Christmas. I think I need to get started right away!
