2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Embroidered Owl Clutch on: August 31, 2008 12:36:52 AM
thanks guys!

Apulia- i just recently took up embroidery, so i'm still trying to incorporate more stitches in my stuff.  for this one i only used backstitch, chain stitch, and satin stitch.

patchworkarmy- lol, thanks for fielding the question!  i would love to work at joann's, but i think i would end up spending most of my paycheck there.
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Embroidered Owl Clutch on: August 29, 2008 01:26:29 AM
I made this for my friend for her birthday, I hope she finds some sort of use for it!  I used the awesome tutorial for making a lined zippered pouch by e.r.i.k.a (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0), and just added a strap to the side to make it a clutch.  A strangely square clutch, but i nevermind that.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Rorschach Watchmen Plush! on: July 23, 2008 03:33:50 PM
this is so awesome...watchmen is the best!  your friend is a lucky person.

i saw the preview for it when i saw batman too!   thought it was kind of strange how they didn't even hint at the plot, but no matter.....the graphics look amazing!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: its time for a new clutch on: July 20, 2008 12:09:10 AM
i LOVE this clutch!  lace and clocks go so well together.....
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Thank you Batman, for being so stencil-friendly! on: July 19, 2008 08:35:58 PM
So yesterday afternoon I woke up and thought, "Hooray, I'm seeing The Dark Knight tonight!"  (yeah, I couldn't make the midnight showing.....*sad*).  Immediately after that thought came realization: "I have nothing Batman-related to wear.  CRAP."

Seeing as I didn't have the money to buy a new shirt and I didn't have time to do anything elaborate, I just grabbed an old black tanktop and stenciled the batman logo on it.  luckily the new bat symbol is a cinch to draw and cut out on account of all the straight lines.

action shot!  (i'm amazed it came out this well.  usually i don't wait long enough to peel off the freezer paper and everything smears)

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: "No" Llama bag on: September 11, 2007 02:03:09 PM
yay, i'm glad people like it!  thanks guys!

unpopulartshirt, the llama saying "no" is just completely random....i was sitting around one day when i decided, hey, i need a bag with a contrary llama on it.  the cloth looks like patchwork suede but it's actually some sort of polyester blend.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / "No" Llama bag on: September 11, 2007 12:34:35 PM
Not to be confused with a "No Llama" bag, because that would be blatant anti-llama propaganda and I do not stand for such things.

This measurements for this tote were horrible.....I made it too skinny and too long, and the strap is too short.  Trying to reach in and grab stuff while I'm carrying it on my shoulder is quite an ordeal.  Ah well, next time I'll do better.....
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: paper mache meatwad on: September 02, 2007 09:40:37 PM
MEATWAD!!!

this is painfully awesome.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Frilly Skulls- Gothic Lolita Headband on: August 19, 2007 01:36:18 AM
Bat's day is today, and seeing as it's supposed to be over 94 degrees out (apparently God hates goths), I decided to go for a headband instead of a top hat to complete my outfit.  I made the skulls out of polymer clay, and the headband is just some leftover black velvet with  lace and bias tape sewn onto it.
