23  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Favorite veggie/vegan yarns on: April 26, 2006 12:55:24 PM
Hi all,
I assume there are folks here that would rather use non-animal fibers for projects.
My favorites are:
1. soy silk. It has beautiful drape - post-knit.
2. cotton-lycra - it has a snug fit & stretches well.
3. Ingeo falls well too but it's a nightmare to spin.
let's hear everyone else's!

25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting shells with soft stretchy cotton boucle on: April 20, 2006 07:20:24 AM
Hi all,
has anyone attempted knitting with cotton lycra? I dyed a bunch for my friend & her baby. She's knitting socks & baby clothes from it. I'd love to get hold of a pattern for a Shell. This stuff is soft, cool & fits like a dream due to the lycra (retains shape). I haven't yet come across a pattern for a lot of things made from cotton-lycra. I assume that you'd use a tad fewer stitches if you wanted a snug fit?

      Thanks in advance  Smiley
