1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / want to make an altered art journal. Where to start? on: March 17, 2011 04:33:53 PM
Hi all,
i want to make an altered art journal (already have the theme of the book i want to create) just need some advice on how to go about it. Have seen some fab books on here!
I have started to glue some pages of an old novel together but the pages are warping a bit and now dont sit straight so the book doesnt close properly! Am now thinking of taking each page out of the book and do something else with them.
so my questions are: how to start, what is the best type of book to use?
I want to glue the pages together so i can paint on to them.

Thanks all.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I have a ankle length black flare-y skirt. Want to reconstruct but to what? on: January 28, 2007 05:53:54 AM
Can anyone give me some ideas (with a pattern!) of what i can do with this skirt. the skirt does fit me but it's too long and very floaty as the skirt is A line with extra panels at the bottom. I would like to make some sort of dress but how?

The waist of the skirt is elastic. When i pull it up so it covers my whole body, its too big at the waist.

If anyone can give me some tips or guidance on what i can make out of it i would be grateful.

Thanks!!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / need quick help with a pattern please on: December 06, 2006 01:35:09 AM
my pattern. it is to finish off the front panel. original pattern is here http://www.mangomoonyarns.com/Belted_Wrap.html

"When front measures 15 (16, 17 _) from CO row begin armhole with a WS row. BO 3 sts work across. Dec 1 st at armhole edge EOR 6 times. When armhole measures 6 (6 _, 7)end with RS row. BO 4 st beginning of next row, work 1 row even. BO 3 sts at beginning of next row, BO remaining 4 sts the following row."

This is what it is saying. i need to know "end with rs row" does this mean knit the last row which would be the right side. so i would start BO on the wrong side?

Does anyone have any advice they could give me?

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / new member, from UK (help with making tshirt skirt) on: April 25, 2006 11:03:50 AM
Hey all.
I am brand new here and I need your help.

I am trying to make a skirt. So far I have cut up an old t shirt, i am going to use the body part of the t shirt as the basis for the skirt (will add elastic)
I am now cutting up some old shirts (in colours of pinks) all cotton and then i have a denim skirt that i want to use to break the pink up. i have no pattern!

any advice? I thought about making the shirt fabric into a flat circle and then cutting a hole and stitch it to the waist band?
