61  Re: Harry Potter for our Kids Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by ofenjen on: August 19, 2006 02:18:57 PM
We've received from zenochka!  Hurray!  My kids are SO happy.  I've got pics....
Gareth with the cutest Dobby ever!

Elena and her super cool new bulletin board! It goes perfectly with her HP room!

Mini-monsterbook - how cute is that???

Elena's new best friend!  A purple Pygmy Puff (she loves furry & purple!  PERFECT!!!)...  She's also wearing a gorgeous new Hogwarts necklace in Gryffindor colors.  She loves it, too!

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes Tee for Gareth - he LOVES it.  Fred & George are two of hisfavorite characters
and he's a t-shirt maniac!

Elena's mini-Monster Book of Monsters... which keeps trying to eat Dobby, much to Gareth's chagrin!

Gareth's unbelievably cool new Potions notebook & quill, both of which he's started writing potions in.  Thank goodness I had some ink!

Last but not least, a very bad picture (sorry about the glare!) of cool ornaments that William helped make, according to our letter. Smiley  Left is Elena's of Harry and right is Gareth's of Sirius.

And a couple of pictures of Gareth using the Potions notebook...

Thanks again to zenochka!  Your crafts are just awesome and my kids are having a blast with everything!

62  Teeny Goblet of Fire Quilt - Original Design in CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES by ofenjen on: August 04, 2006 08:29:32 AM
Being Harry Potter obsessed, it seemed only natural that I use one of my own patterns for this challenge!  So here it is, my own paper pieced Goblet of Fire pattern 1.5"x1.5" complete with backing.  The pattern has 36 individual pieces and the pattern is broken into 5 segments Yikes!

The Goblet of Fire is a roughly hewn cup filled with dancing blue flames that turn orange when about to return a Tri-wizard entrant's name.

The Pattern

Sewing one of the center segments.  Man that's small!

Individual segments ready to be pieced

The block is pieced!  Photo from the back!

Finished block next to the original 5" version
(pattern available at Fandom In Stitches )

The finished block, front & center!  All 1.5" of it!

Hope you like it!

63  Re: CHALLENGE :5: YOUR OBSESSION! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by ofenjen on: July 12, 2006 08:26:29 PM
Obsessed, me?
Bag Title:  Ravenclaw Messenger Bag for Lumos Las Vegas http://lumos2006.org/
Your Obsession:  All Things Harry Potter & Paper Piecing

What a great challenge!  My obsessions are Harry Potter & Paper Piecing.   Due to my obsession, I maniacally design HP paper piecing squares and designed this square & bag specifically take to Lumos in Las Vegas at the end of this month.  The entire bag is quilted & lined with recycled denim from another project.  The strap is also quilted and will be way comfy for carrying my HP loot in Vegas!    Woo-hoo!

Inspiration... the Ravenclaw House seal

64  Re: Gryffindor ipod cozies are multiplying like Tribbles! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ofenjen on: July 10, 2006 07:20:19 AM
I made 2 more and I like these best!  I found some vinyl in my stash and decided to try doing a window.  I love finding stuff in my stash I forgot I had!

I'm making one more for myself, so I'll write the pattern down when I do that one.  The one on the right is my daugter's.  She requested the tassles.

65  Re: New T-Shirt Recons w/ pouch pocket in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ofenjen on: July 10, 2006 06:57:49 AM
Very cool!  I think I have the same fabric you made your pocket from!    I love your tie-belt as well Smiley  Hmmm... may have to head off to Goodwill for some accessory makin'!  Great skirts in your etsy store  Grin.

Reconned another thrift store shirt for etsy today.  I even managed to dig up an old hoodie pattern that worked great on the tee.

My daughter's modelling.  She wanted to be anonymous, hence the stained glass face.
