674  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my first dress =) on: May 10, 2006 09:00:42 AM
I'm so excited- I finished my first dress!  I've sewn a skirt before this- at a sewing class from JoAnn, but this is the first project i've done by myself- it even has a zipper-which i thought was pretty easy.. even though i was scared at first.. hehe.
I got everything at walmart, and the total was about $15 all together. Which is awesome because i got to make it fit exactly how I wanted it to!
I love sewing... and my new pink polka dot dress. Smiley

Heres a picture of it:

I used this pattern: view C

It took me about 4 nights alltogether to finish it.
I love it and i can't wait to wear it Smiley
675  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing Class on: May 07, 2006 08:18:45 PM
i've actually taken a class at Joann.. It was sewing I.  My teacher was really nice and was very helpful. My project was a skirt with a drawstring. I thought it was worth the money and it helped me learn a lot-since i hadn't sewn since like 7th grade in school!  I would recommend it Smiley Good Luck!
