1  Re: Make-a-Friend Round 6 -- Summer 2010 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Dancer4Ever on: July 20, 2010 04:08:23 PM
I feel like such a bad partner for not getting the pictures of the wonderful package Foxy Sam sent me up earlier. My dog took another spill and I have been having to take care of her again which is a full time job it seems. Anywho, back to the package!

The whole lot of goodies! And the awesome sewing bag from my wists and a ton of cross stitch patterns and kits, which their close up seem to have been eaten.

The kick arse crochet dragon from my wist, a pair of fingerless gloves from my wist, some fun fluffy socks (only a slight addiction), and the awesome bath goodies!

And to go along with the book making kit (you can see it in the first picture), not 1, not 2, not 3 and not even four but FIVE, yes, FIVE examples of different kinds of books I can make one of which is a swap book with cute pictures in it, with a Wizard of OZ cover.

Sorry it took me so long to post these! Here are the five cards I got in the mail the other day.

Front: Love; Two hearts;soul mates; as one; true love; love. "Love is the beauty of the soul."-St. Augustine "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach."-Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Back: "At last I know what love is really like." -Virgil  I don't believe in love. I've never had just 1 man in my life who showed me love was anything besides the stuff in fairy tales. They're all selfish and take advantage of their partners. I never want to be so blind again. However, I do encourage my friends to keep faith. It's too late for me, but maybe they won't have to end up  like me.

Front: Over half of the art supplies I use for swaps are stolen.
Back: Even this paper

Front: People think I'm a sweet girl. I'm really very NAUGHTY.
Back: I love that no one knows what I get up to.
(I'm sorry to the sender if I put the naughty line in the wrong place. It came off before I received it)

Front: (top) career relations belief sex cash voice power (bottom) I have none of these things. Is it normal that I don't want them?

Front: If you're nice to me I give you the shiny pennies. If not, you get the old dirty ones.

So here is a picture of the awesome jewelry I received from kartiana.

This was the best picture I was able to get and it doesn't do the items justice at all. The larger blue/turquoise/aqua buttons and the purple flowers are shell buttons and so shiny. And the little blue buttons match the shell ones really closely.

Thank you so much kartiana!

Front: "She helped me overcome my body issues"
Back: "I now wear a bikini to the beach"

Once again, sorry for the crummy photos. I need a new camera.

And my third:

The writing on the side says: "Once in a fit of immaturity, I got revenge on my roommate by cleaning her period blood off the toilet with her toothbrush."

On the back: I never told anyone before now...it was terrible I know.

My second secret:

'I'm glad you two found each other. I think you're a great guy and I really like you. But if you break her heart and she reverts to being suicidal again...I will make your life a living HELL and I will NEVER forgive you.'

On the back of the girl's dress it says HAPPY

8  Re: fiber friday June 18, 2010 in Spinning: Completed Projects by Dancer4Ever on: June 18, 2010 08:39:58 PM
I can finally join fiber Friday!  Cheesy So just a little background, I got my wheel two weeks ago and am in LOVE with it. I also rediscovered my spindle that I've had for a while with the fiber still on it from spinning while onstage during a play (boy was that fun  Roll Eyes). Anywho on to the few pictures.
First the wheel (and the cat):

Sadly, no pictures of the first bobbin full of yarn as I accidentally left it at a friend's house in another city. And the attempts for pictures of the current attempt, well, they are awful, but here you go (also includes the cat again, she loves the wheel). Sorry for the crummy image, it was the best I could get on the camera :

And the spindle and fiber. It is mostly lace weight with a few thicker sections from (I think) when I was attempting to spin while holding a conversation and not completely screw up either. I'm going to keep working on this one, so more pictures in future Fiber Fridays

You totally bet me to picture posting! As nostephot said we meet up at a local ice cream shop (also meaning lunch for me  Grin) and she is the sweetest ever! I completely understand you having to dash, where on earth did the day go? And yes, we should meet up again, chat and craft at some other local joint! I think you spoiled me more than I did you.
Picture of everything:
(sorry for the crummy image, I need to get a better camera, er get my own, I jacked the parents camera. Hey look, a cat butt in the picture)
Close up of the cute little needle book and some of the little cross stitch kits and patterns:

Everything that I received from nostephot:
-Embroidery frame!
-3 different size hoops
-4 little cross stitch mini kits of flowers perfect for throwing in my bag on the oh so exciting car trip next weekend
-5 pieces (3 of them huge!) of cross stitch fabric and 2 bookmarks to cross stitch
-Photocopies of some patterns from Subversive Cross Stitch (how she knew I was too cheap to buy the book I will never know) and some from the web
-Embroidery floss on the most adorable cards connected with a binder ring
-And last, but not least, a cute little needle book so I can keep the embroidery/cross stitch needles separate from the sewing needles

Oh, and an adorable birthday card with a cross stitch cupcake on it Cheesy. And nostephot, if you have a picture of it, it deserves to be seen! All I can get is a very blurry picture of it  Undecided

Nostephot, thank you so much! And if you let me know what time period for the corset I might be able to dig up a pattern for one.

Happy Birthday!

10  Re: Bento Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Dancer4Ever on: June 08, 2010 02:37:36 PM
I received from Avian Flight today and am blown away by everything she sent!

Everything!

Three reusable snack bags, which are almost to use to think about using and the green and white stripes behind them is an awesome and sturdy lunch bag.

You can see part of the bento box and matching fork and case for it in the corner and it is such a pretty color. There are little soy sauce bottle, silicone cups, rice molds and two leaf shaped bento bands.

Some very yummy snacks (that have already been broken into), the cute little animal picks and some silicone (?) food dividers.

Somehow the utensil wrap didn't make it into the pictures, but it matches the two larger snack bags and is also lined with nylon and seems to be the right size to double as a placemat.

Thank you so much Avian Flight! Now I have no excuse to not make my lunch when I go do things.
