I use gesso on my pages (i've just started, but read in an altering book that gesso works) I've also heard that gesso can aid in transfering photos?? is that true?

24  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: very first quilt made!! lots o' pics! on: August 15, 2006 09:36:20 AM
Thanks for the nice comments! I made this as my first quilt top to learn what i enjoyed doin, I was surprised that there were some blocks i had a lot of trouble with and had to take apart several times, and some that just "fell together". It was a great learning quilt. (i am afraid tho that the friend i made it for won't like it since it's not the best quality-first quilt and all Wink)

This is my first ever quilt. I didn't know anything to start with so i thought i could cut out whatever in any size and it'd work out;) hehe, it's not perfect..but i've learned A LOT! there's a pic of the top part and then a few single pictures of my favorite blocks..

In this project i took the same tissue paper that was used in my "tea container transformed" project. I was ironing the tissue paper to get it flat and when i picked it up there were all these beautiful women all over my parents deep freeze...(EEK!!) But dispite that i discovered that i could make some really cool prints off of it! That's what this picture is..a ironed off print fr. tissue paper. Other than that i just cut the top off a frame and put some backing on then inked everything up a little and took apart some pearl earings(which you can't see very well!!) So sorry i can't post a better "how to" :-P most of my projects are either accidents or made from left over things. :-P Thanks again for the wonderful comment! :-D
