I love this! It also sort of looks "Teesha Moore-inspired" and I love that about it!  Great job!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: The 10pound key corset that almost was... on: May 05, 2012 02:35:31 PM
it was probably the first time anyone in history has muttered "if i don't have enough keys i'm entirely too fat"
  LOL

This is so amazing.  It rocks!  Where did you get so many keys?  I have a slight obsession with skeleton keys... but I don't have 200 of them!  Although I wish I did now!

I wanna see an action pic too alexxxx!

You did an amazing job!  I love it!  I especially love the shoes and I can totally see you wearing them again without the dress!  Welcome to craftster as well!

This is so amazing!  I want to re-create it for Halloween next year!  I love how you made it all out of old clothing too!  "This rocks" button pressed!
6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Cigarette Girl - Lots of firsts ... lots of pics! on: November 10, 2010 08:59:13 AM
Thanks guys!

Say you love me: I made the dressform using this tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=275007.0  I wouldn't recommend using duct tape because when you put pins into it, they'll get all sticky.  This tutorial uses paper packaging tape which dries hard and doesn't leave a sticky residue.  Win-win!

My costume this year was inspired by this post, which is so amazing!  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=357281.0

I've never made clothing before, except for aprons.  I made my own pattern for the bolero and I used a tutorial for the circle skirt.  Everything else I just kinda made up as I went!  I originally had plans to make a corset but that didn't pan out too well.  So please note that part is NOT made by me!

The hat:

I lined it:

Capelet/bolero/shrug:

Lace back:

The collar: (I ended up adding another layer of lace to this - no pic)

Puffy sleeves!

Lace "glovelets" ... these took sooo long!

My cigarette box, the lining is leopard although you can't see that Sad Difficult to see the fringe at the bottom also

Bitch fabric (Pleather?) I made the skirt out of:

Trim on the skirt ... 5 yards of it!

Obligatory twirl shot!

Happy Halloween!

There were so many incredible entries this year! SOOOO many! So much talent!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: 1st clothing clothing piece-velvety velour & lace capelet/shrug/bolero & 1st hat on: October 29, 2010 10:00:34 AM
It's all very classy! I love the sleeves on the bolero and the lace gives it a nice extra edge. Very fab!

THANK YOU!!!  Hopefully I'll have time to add some more lace to the collar...I'm still working on the costume and time is running out!
