1  inspired by TEASE: button down + crew neck in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by hollandcox on: July 03, 2006 10:35:48 PM
I got the book TEASE for my birthday and have been inspired to make lots of the t-shirt recons in there, as well as some of the ones I've seen here. However, while reading through the book, I was struck with this idea, to keep most of a button down shirt and just replace the bodice with knit jersey/t-shirt fabric. I've got a DD chest so often the button-downs gape at the center button - not pretty. Here is my solution.

before, crew neck T shirt:

before, button down w/ collar:

after:

my first t shirt reconstruction! I know, I know, only 100 years behind the times. Smiley I think next time I'll use more colorful shirts, and shape the seam between the two shirts a bit. Also, I think it comes to too much of a point in the front. But hey, I was experimenting! I will never give away another shirt again. Smiley
