1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: What are YOU making for holiday gifts? on: December 09, 2010 12:38:27 PM
My theme this year is buy cheap and improve. I have a friend who works for a certain video game store and they get all sorts of things that are meant to be given to people who pre-order a specific game, when they have extra pre-order items they can give them away to the employees, so for my sister I got a little sack-boy plushie that I'm dressing up in a shy-guy costume, and for her fiance I'm making Sonic the Hedgehog gloves to go with the Sonic hat.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Microplush TARDIS problems on: December 07, 2010 10:45:51 PM
hey guys I started a craft and now I'm stuck and only have 17 days to finish it  Undecided Huh HELP!?!?!?

Ok so the brilliant idea I had was to make my snuggle buddy a new blanket for Christmas; he's a big Doctor Who fan; and I found this beautiful blue microplush fabric at a steal of $2.50 a yard so I decided I'd make him a TARDIS blanket.
I've got the basic parts done, trimmed the edges with a nice wide blue satin blanket binding, got the windows finished, did some simple stitching to give the appearance of the panels, and now I've hit a snag. I have no idea how to do the stenciling for the notice that goes on the door or for the sign that reads "POLICE CALL BOX" and while the blanket looks really nice as it is without those two features it's not a TARDIS blanket it's just a nice blue blanket with two white squares at the top.
I'd use simple fabric paint but I really don't want it to wash off and with Microplush it feels really weird.

Please someone help. I have no idea what to do and I'm running out of time

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Buddy Cube Plushies on: June 03, 2009 09:20:45 PM
I've gotten caught up in making these, I made the first one for my father-in-law as a christmas present, and then I made one for a student of his who after seeing the first one begged me to make one for him. I recently made a few to sell at an Artist Alley table at a convention that my friends and I shared.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Book-Lovers Swap Gallery! on: November 10, 2008 02:11:07 PM
I'm glad people thought the pensieve was cool, my friend Grim actually came up with the concept we were trying to write papers for our english class but kept getting distracted by other random thoughts that would float through our heads, (side note: we both have severe Adult ADHD) so he thought it would help to write our unwelcome thoughts down, put em away and forget about em till we finished the paper, and believe it or not IT WORKED!!
And that's the story of how the Muggle Pensieve was born.
BTW *Sly*Sev*Steph* the House badge is a window decal not an iron on sorry, I was trying for an iron on but apparently all the places in Miami were completely out of transfer paper, I figured a window decal would be almost as good.

Sent finally, sorry for running late.
And a few pics to tempt *Sly*Sev*Steph*'s pallet till it arrives

I hope she loves everything, I tried to make things that were not only nifty but extremely useful too. Course then I added some small not so useful, but still neat, items.
I really hope she likes them, I had a ton of fun coming up with ideas, and I learned how to make M&P soap too.
8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Cooking for a group on a budget -- HELP! on: October 21, 2008 12:15:02 PM
I love to take the chicken rice-a-roni and when you add the water also add chunks of chicken and frozen veggies, I usually use broccoli or brussle sprouts, it's a good quick one pot meal.

I have a friend who recently began putting BBQ sauce on everything, but it started with him dipping his pizza in it, it was actually pretty good

If you're looking for easy breakfast things, may I suggest Grits or Oatmeal
Grits are great cause everyone can individualize them, my boyfriend puts bacon bits in his, I like mine with sugar or syrup mixed in, my sister eats hers with cheese, my brothers is always full of jalapeos and hot sauce

Another thing, to try for breakfast is Crepes again because they can be individualized at the table,
Same with Breakfast burritos.
Hope this helps
