1  Re: Make Me A Reusable Shopping Bag Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Myrna Minx on: November 06, 2008 04:46:13 PM
Yay! I received from Iggy today! It's a great bag and he had a great idea - he lined the bag with what I think is swimming trunk fabric. I thought that was perfect when you consider all the drippy cold dairy or frozen foods there are  Smiley

Thanks Iggy! I really adore the bag! The way you did the handles was really cool too.

Teaser 2

But since they are for a guy, the second one really references the lining, not the outside!

Amazing hooded sweatshirt in my favorite colors!!
Thanks, it's awesome! All my hoodies are too small for my pregnant belly, except for my brand new one Smiley

4  Re: Shape, Color and Texture Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Myrna Minx on: August 09, 2008 12:38:11 PM
Finally found my camera. I'm a teacher and went back to work last week, so I've been crazy busy! I got my awesome items from Erin about a week ago, here are the pics! My choices were pink, round and soft.
For pink, I got a really great beaded pin, my pic doesn't do it justice. 3 different shades, really intricate. It will look great on a scarf or hat this winter!

Round was this really cute beaded necklace that I've been wearing quite a bit!

And soft was this incredibly hilarious & creative pin cushion! What a great idea, totally nothing I could have ever even thought of!

I had a really fun time with this swap, great partner!

5  Re: Turqoise Eyepatch in Crochet: Completed Projects by Myrna Minx on: July 29, 2008 06:38:44 AM
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=226099

I crocheted an eyepatch to go over an injury I had in February. I made a few more after that. It's pretty basic. Make a single crochet circle and add a strap. It looks like maybe you could have started with a bigger loop in the middle of the circle - mine had just the tiniest bit of a cone shape to it so it actually sat just right over my eye.
My first one was a little big, but at the same time if it's too small it won't really "work," if you actually want it to work. Also, the ends were rough, but that was easy to work out - I just needed to weave the ends in. The first one was such an experiment, I just tied them off.
I wonder how familiar you are with making geometric shapes? Here are a few links for working with circles:

Good luck and you should post some pics of your next eye patch!

Here are my awesome items from Jennecca! A really cool box and tray that have been imprinted with Supernatural symbols! Nothing I have ever thought of trying before, so that just makes it doubly cool. In the box was a Devil's Snare and a bottle of sea salt and a rosary. Amazing!

Oh, that's a pain, I'm sorry! I'll post the 2 pics I took, one of the pattern I used, and one of the bag.

It's Invader Zim, which is totally silly.

Tuesday night, I had a great time caucusing for Barack Obama, but I couldn't figure out why my right eye was so blurry. Thought my contact was dirty...several hours and a trip to the ER later....turns out it was a scratch and blister combo. I should be fine by next Wednesday, according to the eye doc. 4 days of eye bandage...my friend Ray suggested I make myself an eye patch, so I did! What with the lack of depth perception, it was a bit tricky! Here's me, with and with out the cover! I plan on making a small collection of cute ones for the same doc to give to kids forced to wear an eye bandage for whatever reason.

Here are pics of my cute stripy bag with a pocket from lovefindslove. The inside is kind of shiny, and she matched up all the stripes perfectly!
