11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / H R Giger embroidery on: January 21, 2008 06:45:29 AM
I love Giger and I have always wanted to make an embroidery out of one of his paintings. Some day I will make an insanly large crossstitch of one of the airbrushed ones he has done, but so far it has only become this small blackwork piece.

And framed it stands above my bed....

A kind of regional embroidery technique from Sweden, called Delsbosm. It was kinda boring to do it the original way and I wanted to explore the unlimited land of gore....
On a batiked fabric with cotton threads and some applications.

13  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Cthulu monster with metal warp on: March 04, 2007 07:17:27 AM
Ok, this is my first post at Crafster, so I may do it completely wrong... Aaaand.... I think I made it. Pictures are where they are supposed to be at least...
I made this about two years ago on a weaving course. It got copper wires as warp and a black stretchy fabric cut in strings as weft. I also put in some thin red metal treads occationally. In the front and at the end, I used copper wires as weft too and when i cut it down, I could twist it to a tube like thing and shape it as I wanted to have it.
