1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / First Embroidery Project: Homage to New Jersey on: June 14, 2009 02:41:04 PM
I've always looked at embroidery and thought to myself 'I bet I can do that.' Turns out I can! Not that great, but it's a start I suppose.

I drew the shape of New Jersey onto a piece of broadcloth scrap, grabbed my massive pile of entangles embroidery floss, and went to town.

I did it with the satin stitch and everything, and it looked pretty not bad until I did the French knots for the towns. (On there is, um, Edison, Newark, Jersey City, Old Bridge, Trenton, Toms River, Brick, and maybe others). Then that looked so bad, so I decided to add in the counties. Do not think that I got all 21 in and can assure you 90% of the towns are not in the right counties.

But hey, it was fun. Now I can think of something else to do and start doing it. Hopefully better than this.

It kind of reminds me of christmas lights, but sexy christmas lights. Very pretty, classy necklace.

This sounds fun. I would be so in. French minor myself. I'm not that great at it and I have never been, but I am obsessed with all things French.

Adorable coat- best color in the world. I saw The Hills preview months ago and fell completely in love with Lauren's bow coat then. I was still gushing about it for like five minutes tonight during the premiere.

But, seriously, Wal-Mart is getting rid of their fabric? There will literally be nowhere to get fabric by me, seriously, if they do. Not that they have that great a selection anyway, but it's so much better than nothing! I seriously might cry at hearing this.

The expensive one, stunning. Yours seems just as beautiful. What a clever idea. I would kill for one of yours. And a place to hang it.

Great great job.
