11  "The answer is home" Tee IMG HEAVY in Stenciling: Completed Projects by kaykayelle on: May 05, 2006 08:00:12 PM
So, 7th Heaven, my favorite show of all eternity, is ending on Monday after ten years. I couldn't just let this solemn occassion go by without something to commemorate the day. I decided to do a shirt, which I will be donning on Tuesday as the "Official Day of Death" to school.
I made a stencil out of that blank stencil plastic sheet that they sell with the precut stencils after fixing up the images in Photoshop and just spongepainted with fabric paint. Then after it dired, I touched up areas and made the details on the back with a fabric paint squeeze bottle.

If you've ever watched the show, you know one of the lines from the theme song is "Where can you go when the world don't treat you right? The answer is home, that's the one place that you'll find."

(front)
That's supposed to mean "the answer is home", from the song. That's the Camden house.

(back)

Me wearing my shirt, which I love to death.

Anybody familiar with the show, does that resemble the Camden house at all? Do you get the shirt? Any feedback would be great, seeing as the only person who's seen it yet is my mother and she doesn't think the house looks any good.

12  Re: Friendship Bracelet Cozy in Discussion and Questions by kaykayelle on: April 28, 2006 09:10:24 PM
I started cutting my thread. It took me an hour just to cut 130something pieces. I need 168. For one side. I don't think I even have enough from my stash.  Sad

It looks kind of like a hat...

...Maybe I should start tying them together before I cut more, see if I really need it. Because that looks like a heck of a lot of thread to cover one side of a notebook.

13  "Quilted" Portfolio Sleeve in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by kaykayelle on: April 16, 2006 06:13:54 PM
This is my first post at Craftster! I am so excited!

Anyway, for English class we had to do this portfolio of our work for the year, and we had to put it in something that represented us in some way. Mine doesn't exactly represent me, but whatever. At first I was going to try and make my own binder and use this rectangle I've been practicing knitting on, but that didn't work out, so I got some quilters squares and decided to make an envelope thing to put my work in.

(Excuse the blurryness of the first picture)

I started sewing it, but my sewing machine tends to hate me, so I ended up gluing about 75% of it together, which turned out to be so much faster.

I think it looks insanely pillow-esque, but my mom thinks it's great. That's all the matters though, right?  Roll Eyes
