2  Re: NOT ANOTHER JEANS TO SKIRT RECON sorry! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by kookiesnaks on: March 26, 2007 11:20:34 AM
i know im not very neat Grin but this design was meant to be quite messy, bitty and grungy! but the main thing is that it doesnt feel like its gonna fall to bits lol. so im quite pleased it is wearable.

its similar to this skirt which i bought from ebay and it was quite badly made with holes everywhere so i tried to make it but it didnt really turn out that way!! this was her version (which is getting a bit too tight for me) teamed with my skull dog legwarmers.

I kinda like it.  The fact that everything doesn't line up perfect is what makes it cute in my opinion.  Nice save.

ok heres a pic of me wearing it! i would probably wear fishnets with them or something. my legs are yuk. even though i say its asymetrical it doesnt really look it when worn. o well. i had seen something similar so decided to have a go myself. underneath the frill, i kinda made a mistake! it was too short so i added another frill layer on top which kinda made it more puffy!overall i think it looks ok. if it sells then im gonna try a different variation! but not with miss sixty jeans next time  Grin

i cant believe my sister tried to kill off a perfectly good pair of miss sixty jeans with snap fasteners down the side of the legs! she tried to make a mini skirt but asked me if i wanted it because she made a mess of it ( she just cut the legs off!) so i took it and heres what i came up with. ( i had made mistakes also! but had fixed it so it was not noticeable. see what you think? thanks

sorry i dont have a before pic as the jeans were already cut. the studs to the font and back were part of the legs. it kinda went wrong so i kept adding bits on!

7  Re: Generation T, by Megan Nicolay in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by kookiesnaks on: August 22, 2006 06:39:18 AM
to knitchka....

In a nutshell. i thought i was the only one that felt disappointed by Generation T but i do like to make things quick. not much sewing skills required. it did not make me feel like ive made something to be proud of. I tried to make one of the skirts and i wasnt impressed with my own efforts and wasted a good tshirt or 2.

the designs are very flashdance some are wearable and the others when you make them look cheap no matter what the material or the quality.

the good thing about it is the instructions are clear. by the way im 36 and feel alot of them i couldnt wear either and i dont look my age.

i recently bought 99 ways to ..... and i have to say designs are better and wearable. nicely presented and as ive just bought it i started to make the easiest tshirt first. it is bit short for me but i do like it. what do you think? i guess this may sorta contradict what ive said about generation t but this is something id wear but with a vest or tube top underneath. it was really funny i just had to make it!or cut it!sorry about the photos. i was standing in the bath tub!

about the book 99 i really preferred it but im about the only one!
(excuse my bra it is a nude coloured bra!)

8  angel wings stencil in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by kookiesnaks on: August 19, 2006 05:12:09 AM
this stencil kinda bled a little on the right wing  near the seam but i guess it looks ok. what do you think? i think it still needs to go higher up but it was difficult to get the wings across the shoulders as i wanted it to look spread out when arms were splayed out. also listed on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140019290505&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
