1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gingerbread house pattern on: October 11, 2005 11:35:48 AM
yes, I am one of those super early Christmas planners.  Cheesy

I was thinking of gingerbread houses from scratch this year.
The cookie itself can't be too hard to make; but I need help with how to cut it into pieces. Before or after I bake? any patterns?

any suggestions for candy to put in the kit?
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / How do I make a drawstring /casing? on: June 28, 2005 07:50:12 AM
I get the main gist of it, just make a tube for the string to go through.
But i can't figure out how to finish off the ends and have them look not so crappy.
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / I need a fuzzy heart for shirts, etc. on: May 30, 2005 09:06:49 AM
What I'm looking for  is a Heart (any color) in kind of a fuzzy material, like those iron-on letters.
I want to "heart"  stuff on my shirts.  Do they sell it in a blank sheet so you can cut it out to make other shapes?
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Family Guy swap? on: May 14, 2005 12:40:55 PM
Since they brought this show back to production, I can't be the only one who *loves* it.
Any interest for a swap?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I Need help with making a fishing vest on: April 09, 2005 10:01:56 AM
Are there any patterns available for a fishing vest? (i'm looking for one to wear to for flea marketing, and I don't want to pay a lot of money for it. )
I've never seen one, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Even if I had to buy a regular vest and sew pockets on it, that would work, but I don't think I could do it without a pattern.
please help!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Preserving icing roses- is it possible? on: March 18, 2005 05:56:45 AM
I went last night to take my wedding cake out of the freezer, for our one month anniversary.
I realized the buttercream roses on top would be cute for 3-D scrapbook purposes, but I can't come up with a way to preserve them.
Do you think I could coat them in resin? I really have no idea.
They are waiting in the freezer for a good answer.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need a belt to go with my resin buckle plan on: March 09, 2005 08:09:39 AM
i'm totally into belts recently for some reason.  When I saw a resin-coated belt buckle, I said: I can make this myself. And I think I can, but I've having trouble finding supplies.
They have a few buckles on E-bay and the stained glass store, even though the latter are mighty expensive.
But the only place I can find that sells belts that I could hook the buckle onto is Urban outfitters, and it doesn't come in a size big enough for me. ( I need about a 40" length.)
please, please help me!
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re-using those plastic bindings on: March 03, 2005 05:53:46 AM
I just had to purge a ton of spiral binded papers, and the bindings have to be removed to recycle.
So I have a lot of those black plastic bindings with the one solid side: what can I do with them, if anything?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How to simply put messages on tshirts? on: January 20, 2005 08:31:36 AM
If your message is too long to use those stick on letters, what is an easy way to write a messge on a t-shirt? (Crazy Cat man and Crazy cat lady).

I was thinking of a stencil, but that seems like a heck of a lot of work.
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Preserving candy conversation Hearts? on: January 04, 2005 05:31:42 AM
A few years ago, I made my Boyfriend a photo frame for Valentine's Day by using some of those cheap-o acrylic frames and glued those conversation hearts around the edge. It came out great and he loved it, but 4 years later it is showing a lot of wear.
Some have fallen off (next time, I'll use one of the silcones instead of just hot glue) and the whole thing has really faded. I thought I could mod-podge them to seal in the color, but that just made them smeary.
Any suggestions of how else to keep them bright and shiny?
