1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: What are YOU going to wear to 'Twilight'? on: November 20, 2008 04:18:38 PM

Smuckers9, I give you full credit for what I'm going to wear tomorrow. I AM SO WEARING ALL BLACK AND CARRYING AN APPLE! AHHH! =D

Thanks for the amazing idea! I was going to iron on a transfer on my shirt saying, "I drive like a Cullen", but this is an amazing idea!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re-creating the dress? on: November 10, 2008 10:51:49 PM
Hey Guys! A friend(I use the term loosely.. :-/ ) of mine was wearing a really cute dress the other day that looked totally simple enough to be my first dress(or any article of clothing) that I make completely from fabric that I can actually wear(other than a recon). I've never followed a sewing pattern before for an article of clothing. Anyways, here's the dress!

Now, the top looks like just a simple tank-top-type top(wow, try saying that five times fast), and the bottom like a simple pleated skirt thing...but I am at loss where to start with the measuring, ect. Are there any online patterns that look like this or anything? I really like this dress and I'd like to make it!

I am extremely grateful for anyone that is able to help me out! =D
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Long Loom Knitting Boards on: August 15, 2008 11:12:18 PM
No help for me?  Sad
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Long Loom Knitting Boards on: August 09, 2008 09:09:39 PM
Hi! I am thinking about investing in a wooden knitting board. I've purchased the Knifty Knitters ones, but I can't knit with Bulky yarn all of the time. I would like to be able to knit with different gauge yarns and such. I REALLY want to make a Harry Potter Trapped Bar scarf for the up coming(well, it's coming in November) HBP Release. I've knit a scarf on the knifty knitter long loom with bulky yarn, and it went by REALLY fast! I can probably knit faster on a loom than with needles, and I'd definitely love that if I'm going to knit a 6 foot long scarf.  Tongue

What size should I get? I'd like to be able to knit many things, maybe even a sweater some where down the line if I'm feeling brave. Mainly, I'll probably just be making scarves and maybe some handbags. What length should I get? Also, are there some great books I could pick up on knitting with a knitting board? Thanks a bunch. =]

I'm so joining as SOON as I get my mom's permission. She'll probably be a little weary about having our address on the internet. I have no problem with it, because I trust you guys, but how do you think I could convince her? Ursulaandolive, do you want to PM me or something, or I can PM you? Thanks! =]
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Harry Potter Forever? on: July 30, 2008 01:18:32 AM
I'm a first-timer, too, and I am completely obsessed with Harry Potter(The teaser trailer for HBP came out today, guys! Go check it out! It's amazing.)
I'd love to do this swap! I'm a slytherin in desperate need of some HP-items. =]

I've been bored all summer vacation, so I could definitely use this to occupy my time! :]
8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Dark Mark Illusion Scarf KAL?? on: January 17, 2008 07:04:33 PM
I would absolutely LOVE to knit that scarf,
but I am scared of the chart. like, do you
follow the chart only on the right side? or
the wrong side, too? eep! lol. I would be
totally up for it if I get my confidence up a
bit. Smiley

skellerz- haha. the first thing I said when I saw it was, ooh! he's cute! lol.

oh, and I love the scarf, too. I usually have really long scarves that double as a blanket on your legs. lol. but then I hate it when they get in the way, so maybe I should make one of these, too!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Entrelac help? on: January 08, 2008 09:10:18 PM
Your question is a great one! you pick up the stitches by knitting them on using the right needle.

http://z.about.com/d/knitting/1/5/k/1/-/-/Picking_up_stitch.jpg

that picture shows someone's needle in stitch, ready to be knit on. if you need anymore help, just ask! I am stuck on the second part, but I know how to pick up stitches! Smiley
